What is the Most Hated Franchise in the NFC-East?

Having been on this MB for more than a year, I've seen the pendulum swing from the Eagles to the Giants, and perhaps most recently to the Commanders. Some of you are just staunch Eagle-haters and nothing will change that. But this year (while it's not quite over) may have left a mark on your opinions.

Question to all rational thinking Cowboy fans on this MB ...what team earns the title of Most hated Franchise in the NFCE ...or NFCE's Biggest Rival?

The Giants seem to be the premier leaders that we all want to take down, but does that earn your hate? What about those Commanders? The Skins gave the Cowboys the worse beating in the two rival team's history -- perhaps that gets a hate vote? While most Eagle fans that I've talked to never really cared about how Cowboy, G-Men, or Commander fans felt about them, you must admit, we're the least of your threats for domination.

So what's in your wallet (credit card commercial ...meaning who is hated most in the NFCE); what's your barometer gage?

Cheap Shots that result in injuries
Opponent Fan Base
NFCE Standings
Jealousy
Historical Events/grudges

BTW, Eagle fans have their own perspective about the question ...but that's a different thread.;)

Actually, the worst beating in the rivalry was on Dec. 26, 1993 at Texas Stadium when Dallas beat Washington 38-3. This was the worst beating that the Commanders have given the Cowboys. And yes, I hate them, their S#@! coach Joe Gibbs, and their transvestite pig fans the most.

That interesting KW, because I coincidentally live in Maryland (considered half Commanders and half Ravens country). George Michaels (a popular local Sports-caster) is claiming that the Skins recent win is the largest/worse beating in the two ream's history.

Can anyone else confirm your claim?

Don't believe everything you hear on ESPN.

Here is what I posted the other day...

ESPN reported that the 28-point margin of victory was the largest in the history of the 45-year Cowboys/Commanders rivalry.

Wrong.

That was the highest win by the Commanders.

Dallas has won 4 games by 28 or more points in the series:

1962 38-10 (28 )
1985 44-14 (30)
1970 34-0 (34)
1993 38-3 (35)

Dallas also holds a 54-35-2 record vs the Commanders a 60.4% winning percentage (according to pro-football-reference.com).

Not that this wasn't a bad loss by the Boys but it wasn't the worst in the series as those are held by the Commanders, not the Cowboys.

Actually this one didn't hurt as much as the earlier loss did since we had that game in the bag but let them take it from us at the end (stupid Parcells!).

Now that we have that cleared up...

My most hated NFCE rivals:

1. Commanders - I have been a Cowboys fan since 1963 and for most of those 43 seasons the Commanders have been our biggest rivals. Losing that MNF game earlier after holding them scoreless really hurt. This latest debacle was just pitiful.

2. Eagles - Since the late 80s when we started to decline the Eagles have stepped up to become a threat. We dominated them throughout most of our history except for the late 80s-early 90s and the last several years when they creamed us over and over. We hold a 53-40-0 record against the Eagles according to pro-football-reference.com. This year was a nice bit of revenge.

3. Giants - I really don't hate the Giants and only root against them when the play Dallas or when I need them to lose for playoff implications. Otherwise I hope they do well.

I almost always hate the NFC rival thats the best. I had an intense hate for Philly at the beginning of the year(and still do). At the beginning of the season, I thought the Giants were harmless. Eli was nothing more than a blip on the radar. The last time we played the Giants, I noticed my feelings against the Giants getting a little more intense.

ill say growing up the Commanders were my most hated rival, but since the Buddy Ryan Era to the present, the Eagles have took over that role. it amazes me that the Giants get a free pass, it seems like most Cowboy fans never developed a hatred towards them. i will say this and this is a big IF, if Eli goes on to become like his brother Peyton, the Giants could dominate the NFC East for along time which might sway all of us to hate the Giants more than anyone else.

As a skins fan, The Cowboys and Eagles are 1 and 1A....then the giants...it's pretty funny, i think if you polled the fanbases from the cowboys, eagles and skins, the giants would be in third place every time. I know that was the result of an extremeskins.com poll not too far back.

Real good point CC. Even Eagle fans don't have an extreme hatred worked up against the G-Men -- and I too, do not know why that is the case. Actually, I don't like any team that plays against the Eagles on any given week. Now that could extend to the very Kickoff of the following week based on whether we won or lost that game -- and it could even extend longer if we have a bye-week!

Actually we're talking about an oxymoron, because for many of us, it's a love-hate concept. We love to hate the team that gives us the hardest time during any particular season. Then again for others it is hate that has been passed on from one fan to another, from one family member to another, or from years of opponent domination over another team.

Whatever your reason(s) ...isn't it great to be an NFL fan!

I can't think of a Skins/Giants game in recent history that has set a tone for a big rivalry. I can think of plenty with the Cowboys and a few with the Eagles, but none with the Giants.

Either way, it's great to see the NFC east back to where it should be...3 out of 4 teams battling it out through week 17, great coaches, great players all around.

Maybe we should all just start hating the Giants just because they've never been hated.;)

Heck that wouldn't work either ...my list is pretty rock solid!

That's the whole Point that many of you have brought out in this thread! The Giants are the NFCE "darlings!" I hate that! Can they do no wrong. What about the G-Men coach that fined a player last year for being a couple of minutes late (or whatever) ...and how arrogant Shockey was last year (he's cooled out since -- deifintely a threat). What about their uniforms ...ok I'm grasping for straws here, but what is their secret?!

Ditto Thumper, The Eagles fans really made me hate them for the first time when Irvin was hurt and the response from their fans. I like you have been a Cowboys fan for a very long time (when the announced they signed Dandy Don back at the beginning). Was a Texans (became KC) fan before that.

Commanders have been at the top of my hate list for most of the history of the Cowboys, never really liked them except for a few players, never as a team.

The Giants have a history tied in with the Cowboys since that is where Tom L. came from so I don't have any real hate for them.

Right now the Commanders are at the top with the Eagles close behind.

I don't like teams that push the rules like Denver with their blocking and causing injuries at will.

George Michael said this was the biggest SKINS win over Dallas. Not the biggest win between the two.
