What is the one position you don't want picked at 10?

DT, S, DE, LB, C, G, QB, RB - cannot take any of these at #10

We can take TE, WR, CB, OT - those positions at least have value at 10

I would love to trade down and get Horn at CB with an extra 2nd or 3rd

How about trade our #10 to NE for Gilmore and their #15, where we draft Barmore? THEN go LB, DL, OT...

That's the one position you should really want the Cowboys to take and do really well with. In this Defensive Scheme, it's the key. You have to have that perennial Pro Bowl level FS that can do it all. That guy makes everything work.

But unfortunately, this draft doesn't have a Top 10 FS either. To bad........
I agree totally. Maybe they will look at some decent free agents. If not Moehrig, Johnson, and Holland would be my choices on day two of the draft. In 2007-2009 Wade new that an experienced safety helped the whole defense play better so he brought in Hamlin and the defense seemed to play a lot better. Then for some reason they decided to part ways with him and go with Alan Ball and things really fell apart. I always wondered what would have happened if they had kept Hamlin.

No offense, unless one of the top QB's falls in your lap. Then take him and use him as a chip for the future and against injury.
No LB at 10 unless you think Parsons or Collins is a MLB. I don't think either is a Mike, and IMO you need to move LVE to Sam and Smith to Will.
(LVE tends to lead with his head when he tries to stack and shed -- will always end up injured at Mike, Smith runs around blocks causing lanes - he needs to shoot gaps and chase)
No S that has the talent to be taken at 10 -- but you need to look in the 2nd for one for sure.
No DT at 10 rates anywhere near high enough. Alim McNeil in 3rd would be perfect imo, with Brown taken with comp 4.
No DE as you have a TOP 5 paid DE in Tank, Gregory, and two young DE's. Yes get a high upside developer round 5-7, but not at 10.
Dallas needs a CB. As long as Surtain or Farley are available at 10 -- pick one of these two.

If you can get a starting CB at 10, starting FS in 2nd, starting 1T in 3rd, legit MLB like AJ Britt or Buddy Johnson in the 4-7 range (to compete Gifford, Bernard), as well as add development 1T in Brown, and another development DE --- the rest of the picks wouldn't matter too much and you would be well on the way to "fixing" the defense.

I think trading with them, unless they move above the 10 spot, is a high probability because of the way they loaded up on FA day. I think he's going for quality, not quantity, in this draft.

He tried to get Garoppolo back and then signed Newton for a year, he is not going anywhere with Newton and he knows it. He gets his opted out guys back and some new FA blood. If I am BUF or MIA, I am not sleeping on NE.
