What is this team, and how far are they away?

Next year this team will not win more than five games. Too many of the key players are past their prime, too many good players can't stay on the field, and the defense is almost devoid of talent. We're a team on the decline, not the uptick. It will take several good off seasons before the team is truly competitive, but once again, the front office is so bad that it's probably a moot point.

I don't see how we can rebuild with the ridiculous contracts Jerry has got us into. He keeps signing players when there too old. I hate to say it, but I wonder if we should have signed Lee. The guy is always hurt. Just sick of this year after year.

It seems meaningless to discuss sometimes. No hope for us.

Or what about a guy like Brandon Carr. If a stud CB drops to you in the first round and he is the best player on your board do you take him and cut Carr and save Carr's cap charge?

Carr started out strong this year however he is looking like he was rocked so hard by Megatron that his play has fallen off the cliff. When you pay a guy $50m like he was you really HAVE to have that guy at least be solid --- not be part of the problem and lately he is getting picked on.

Doesn't help that he has Heath, Wilcox, and Church behind him on any given play. Dude is playing on an island. Combine that with no pass rush, and Deion would be getting torched, as well.

I honestly thought this team was moving in the right direction. Than Chicago happend. Now I have the sinking feeling the only direction the team is moving is backwards into the deep dark abyss of NFL nothingness.

DeMarcus Ware invisible again when it counts.

Sean Lee injured yet again.

Hatcher starting to look like a guy protecting his pay check.

Those are the teams's best defensive players.

Tony Romo beginning to develop happy feet and 34 y.o next season.

Jason Witten becoming far too easily contained.

Miles Austin barely an NFL player.

Former cornerstone's of the offense. Fortunately, Smith, Frederick and Bryant give a glimmer of hope.

This team has once again proving they simply are not tough enough and mentally resilient enough to be a champion.....not even close. Time to tear it all down.

We are a team with a GM that put us in cap hell and a HC that keeps us in NFL purgatory.

Useless to talk about until we clean house. This team has needed to be purged since 2010, but middling 500 seasons has delayed it.

This group will never get over the hump, turn the page already and give us something fresh to watch.

I love your posts, but this one I had to stop reading once I got the the bolded part.

Thank you for your compliment about liking my posts in general. I wasn't suggesting we will win the Super Bowl this year. To suggest that would be largely unrealistic, although the Giants have seemed to pull off the fear twice under similar circumstances. All I am saying is that your conclusion of where we really are sort or dictates where your analysis ultimately ends up.

Don't forget that we have mortgaged a ton of cap space to hang on to the dream of sneaking into the playoffs and getting hot. We are broke next year.

This team is trash and sadly they will never be any good until Jerry is deceased (not a threat or even wishing for it). We've become the 2000's version of Oakland, if they can Mckenzie we should bring him in because he's shaved 70 Million from their cap for next season. Lord knows Jerry's gonna restructure like crazy and pay Hatcher like he's Albert Haynesworth this offseason.

at least 6 more years IF they are lucky enough to find a replacement for Romo fast after he's done

The over 30 year olds, will represent almost $70 million in dead cap money next year, we'd have to field an entire team of Jeff Heath's just in order to clear them out.

I'd gladly do it for a year or two, it would be progress.

Cowboyszone after losing to the Chiefs: well it wasn't a division or conference loss so in the end it doesn't hurt

Cowboyszone after losing to the Chargers: well it wasn't a division or conference loss so in the end it doesn't hurt

Cowboyszone after losing to the Broncos: well it wasn't a division or conference loss so in the end it doesnt hurt

Those losses matter now dont they? Thats what this team is why their arses will be at home for the playoffs for a 4th straight year.

Chiefs loss- I was drunk and wasn't expecting a whole lot there

Chargers- played not to lose too early as he always does. Mr ivy leagues brain somehow calculates down to the second when to grind the clock. Problem is his calculations are usually half a quarter off or more.

Broncos- I asked myself "how does an NFL team put up 48 points and still lose"

Secondly "how is it we can hang almost 50 points on them, but yet every game is by the skin of our teeth regardless of score". Because Jason thinks winning in the NFL is about statistical models. That explains his robotic behavior and habit for repeating things like jimmy two times from goodfellas (have they fixed that glitch in Garrett 2.1 yet?)

I am a huge Romo fan, but that contract was a joke. Let's hope Hatcher walks, or we are in for some big disappointment there.
