My nightmare scenario:

"Now that the Cowboys have traded every one of their picks for the #1 pick in the entire draft, let's see who they choose."
"Hey, look, they have Tony Romo bringing out the card with the name of their pick. That's a nice gestu--hang on, something's happened. It looks like Tony tripped over a chair on his way to the commissioner's table. Yes, he's definitely down, and he's clutching his left shoulder, in the area of his clavicle."
"And now the clock has expired on the Cowboys' pick! Cleveland is running their card up to the table with the Chargers right behind them!"
"I'm looking at the Dallas War Room and I don't think they've noticed what's happening! Jerry, Stephen and Charlotte appear to be drinking shots in celebration of their pick, and Jason is just sitting there looking at nothing in particular and clapping his hands!"
"Here's the commissioner announcing the first picks. Lynch...Goff...Bosa...Tunsil...Treadwell...all taken. Still no sign from the Cowboys' War Room that anyone realizes what's happening. And now the draft picks are coming up to the podium, and oh dear, they seem to be trampling poor Tony Romo on their way up."

That's pretty much it.

At this point their is no one to cry over missing out on. Will feel different after the combine and workouts though.

1 Lynch- trade
2 Goff
3 Bosa

Both QBs would be gone and not many options for a trade back

It could be Ramsey or Treadwell with this pick and then missing out on Wentz and Elliot before Round 2.

I would only consider Tunsil,Goff and Bosa and Lynch with the 4th pick.I think we are good there.I would be pissed with any DB or Lb in the top 5.

These prior to the Draft Combine look the strongest......Goff is hot, then Tunsil, Bosa and rounding off with Lynch, though personally Paxton is my choice of the current top four.

I guess the closest I can come is if both Lynch and Goff are gone, because I don't believe Wentz lasts until 34 and I doubt the Cowboys take him at 4. That means the Cowboys either don't get a qb in this draft, or take one that likely isnt worth it (although I still think Hackenberg will be a better pro than college player).

With that being said, there are just too many players I like for there to be a nightmare scenario. If both QBs and say Bosa are gone, I still like Treadwell, Jack, Tunsil, Hargreaves, and maybe even Elliott, although I'm sure most feel #4 is too early for him. I could be talked into Ramsey as well, although those 3 career picks are a big red flag for me.

I think your early scenario spells a trade down into the mid 1st....rack up an extra 2nd and 3rd, PLUS get Wentz if they like him that much.

Worst case scenario for the first 3 picks in the draft...........obviously would require some trades to happen, but here it is.

pick 1.........Goff
Pick 2.........Bosa
Pick 3.........Lynch

Both QBs are gone as well as the top defensive player in the draft. Tunsul would probably be the highest graded player on our board, but we don't really need a LT and drafting a RT in the top 5 would be monumentally stupid. I guess we could go Treadwell at that point or even Wentz if they are sold on him. Don't really want Ramsey, Hargraves, or Jack at pick 4

We also would have very little trade options since nobody left that is a must have..............seriously, this would suck so bad.
