DT
DE
OT

Lines are always the most important positions to get right. WR is a second tier position and RB is third tier. If you can get a really good RB in FA for 6-8m$ AAV, don’t waste a premium draft pick on them.
Sad part is we have used last two 1st round picks on an OT and DT. Unfortunately both had question marks.

it's not wordsmithing. that's specifically what the wording was, and what I questioned. i know we need more weapons, everyone knows. i questioned if the best teams typically have two alpha wr's and they don't.
We can debate what an alpha entails, but Buffalo / KC / Balt all currently have 2 1st round WRs.

kc is your back to back sb champs, and baltimore and buffalo are easilly contenders and over everyone other than the lions. the post was the top teams usually have two alpha receivers. and historically i don't think that's been the case. having two alphas typically makes a team dangerous but it hasn't been a blueprint or requirement at all.
Might not be historically but it’s happening in todays pass happy league

yes. as of the past month or so. not in general. and were all plenty successful along the way. like what are we doing here? it's such a nothing/trivial discussion point.

sure, it may be the emerging trend. we'll see. like i said, having them tends to be beneficial. it just hasn't been the standard, and certainly not typically. that's all. all good.

The whole point of the boards is discussion. WR2 is a massive need IMO and we’re seeing all the contenders around the league make sure they’re covered at the position while we’re not.

Fine to disagree…keep it moving.

But you have to continually hammer those positions as you need 9+ quality starters to field a competitive team.

Does Dallas even have 5? Genuinely? Lawrence, Martin, Osa, and Joseph will all be free agents this spring. Are you outbidding other teams to bring Martin or Lawrence back? Terrence Steele is a cut candidate. So there’s Tyler Smith, Hopefully Sam Williams improves, hopefully Tyler Guyton improves, hopefully Cooper Beebe improves. Anyone else indispensible?

I would spend all 3 day 1&2 picks on those two groups. It is the reason the Commander got so good, their Oline is amazing this year. Dorance and Fowler really helped their DLine. It’s how Detroit got so good, KC got so good, Philly is so good, Buffalo is so good. Baltimore, Houston, Minnesota. Tried and true. Look at New Orleans, Cincinnati, both NY, Las Vegas; nothing matters when your lines suck.

my guy. i am here for discussion. i know what the purpose of a msg board is, and i enjoy it. you keep talking past me, and explaining things to me that i understand and agree with and have stated i agree with. i replied to a comment with particular wording, and questioned the particular wording. not the larger philosophy, or ANYTHING to do with the dallas cowboys and their needs. i've already said multiple times that we need more playmakers, i've already said multiple times that good teams have multiple playmakers, i've already said that the league is trending towards stacking wr's, none of that is what i replied to or questioned. we on the same page here?

"genuinely" lol man shutup. commanders got so good because they hit on a qb and no one has much tape on them yet.

It’s never that simple. Adam Peters’ overhaul has been amazing, particularly on the Oline

Eagles now have the second best Oline in the division, hopefully it doesn’t continue.

he has. they've had a great infusion of talent. it all starts with the qb though.

I agree, with so many needs, they will be able to do that.
The process will be frustrating if we get a top 3 pick because Jerry will be the life of the party during draft season. The Cowboys will try to win Monday but after I expect Lance to get more playing time and the tank will begin.

i'm guilty of being overly optimistic, or looking at things in best case, but i truly feel like we're going to be able to grab a fantastic piece to unlock others.
We just need to not reach for Jeanty. This could be the Zeke situation all over again.

Even playing to win, we cannot expect Rush to do much. Dak was struggling with this group and the OL in front of him, Rush was throwing 2 yard passes against the Eagles. I believe a top 5 pick is possible this yr, at worst a top 10 one.

Definitely hasn't been the norm, but it is pointing in that direction. Our passing offense was at it's best when Lamb/Cooper were our starters.

Problem is that is front office always covets skilled, positional players as their the ones who sell the tickets. Been saying for weeks, we need a coach with clout to get convince them how to properly build this team.
