Makes no sense to restructure his deal. Paycut or cut.
I have to believe they are talking about completely redoing his deal in this situation, and using the "restructure" language differently than what it has become knows as in todays NFL. I agree there is zero point to the Cowboys doing a restructure and pushing that cap hit down the road in this case. They could just as easily cut him and be done with the situation for a pretty minimal hit.

I think both sides are being very delicate with the language being used to be respectful to Zeke and nothing more.....at least I hope that's the case.

Restructure: No pay cut. Just pushes cap hit into future years.

Renegotation: Pay cut.

Snickers bar might be too expensive. We’ll go with Zero bar.

I read they will assess his contract at the combine to see where his value is, and whether they want to restructure, please give your thoughts
To the Eagles: 20M per

To the Cowboys: 900K per

To a helmet manufacturer needing someone to test their largest models: Priceless

Have any of you heard of a player restructuring a deal then being cut at a reduced salary, saving the team money?

They could restructure the deal, get to camp and realize this guy is not it, and he be a final roster surprise cut.
Not gonna happen because the restructure would include handing him a check.

This is all going exactly as it should.

Dallas will get cap relief in any scenario and Zeke has to weigh moving to another city and team versus staying here on a low yearly salary.
He may want to give it a year and see if he can have a bounce back year but RB tend to go 1 direction and he has been going that way for 3 years now.

My guess is Dallas is offering 4-6M this year.

Both have to stretch to meet in middle or they part ways.

The disrespect shown to Zeke by the fan base is unfortunate. Especially amongst the fans who actually did buy his jersey, lol.
He has definitely taken a serious beating to his body for this franchise.
Ther 70M he has earned htus far is very good RB money but to be limping around at 28 years old?? High price to pay.

If he was free he would not be worth the roster spot. He is most likely going to average below 4 YPC next year and his yards per pass attempt is so bad you would be better off taking a knee.

I think you have that backwards!!! Eagles wouldn't be so dumb, they'd sign him and trade him and get Aaron Donald in return

He's still a decent power back. I'd treat him like a 3rd round pick who is 28 years old

I just have to note that these $4m or more discussions would still put Zeke in the upper echelon for pay. He doesn't come close to deserving that.

If he would accept the vet min, maaaybe you keep him. Jerry and Stephen seem to think that. Personally I think his presence on the team is to the point where its a distraction. He should be a short yardage / 3rd string back next year but him being on the roster is going to cause people to look over their shoulders constantly.

I think Zeke has done personally financially well, but for the team his financial value is zilch. Even at a pay cut, i would not want him taking a roster spot for a better half back. Pollard's injury has almost guaranteed him staying in Dallas at a lesser contract than he had hoped but only for one or two years max. Doubt he gets franchised because of the injury. I am afraid Jerry is gonna want to retain Zeke for personal reasons and not what is best for the team, typical Jerry move.
