Folk was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the sixth round (178th overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft. On December 30, 2007, against the Washington Commanders, he broke the Cowboys single-season record for most points by a placekicker (131). He made longest kick of his career, a 53-yard game winner against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football during his rookie season. Due to a timeout by Buffalo Bills head coach Dick Jauron, Folk's first attempt, which he made, did not count and the Cowboys had to line back up for another attempt, which he again made.[2][3] That season, he was selected as the kicker for the NFC during the Pro Bowl.

Why sign another kicker to waste a roster spot?

People will want to say bEEler but I have to believe he is not very good at all if they have not went to him yet.

If you want to go with someone that is a FA I think the only one that might be considered would be Gramatica and I don't think he has played all year.

I'm going with Jason Elam. He sucked earlier this year also, but he's a future Hall of Famer....if only ****ty kickers are available, then go with name brand ****

Three things:

1. Folk isn't going to be cut this year. At least I doubt it...He may be inactive, but I doubt we cut him. Nor do I want him cut. I'm not ready to give up on him for good.

2. There is no doubt a FA kicker can do better than Folk right now. I'm not a fan of Buehler as main kicker, as he hasn't practiced FG's as much as a FA kicker I'd bet. But if he can show it in practice, he gets the job by default. If not, I'd bet a veteran is brought in.

3. Folk did make a 44 yarder earlier in the game. However, he is clearly affected by pressure as he shanked a gimme in crunch time.

Yes, but don't get too excited. He kinda sucked and missed a bunch before getting cut by the Falcons earlier this year.

Bring in Suisham (18 of 21 this season). Cut the extra defensive back we're carrying, Cletis Gordon. Make Folk inactive for games.

That way we can see how Suisham does, and hang on to Folk just in case or even for competition next preseason (depending how injuries shake out for the rest of the season).

I know some will say keeping three kickers is ridiculous, but what are we really losing by having him inactive in place of Gordon or one of our other inactives, right now.

Suisham would be good for at least the next game against the Commanders.

The Commanders cut him so he will be motivated. And he has kicked in Washington's field the whole year.
