What kind of Plays do you want to see in 2023

What I typically advocate for regardless of the type of play is for the offense to do more out of each formation and have a plan on how to use the backups. What we see out of the garrett, linehan, moore types is line up and beat your man stuff. That is because while we have good players they often only do certain things out of each formation which helps the defenses understand what the cowboys offense wants to do too easy. The rams literaly went to the SB running about 6 plays out of 1 formation mostly. Then when backups come in they are running the same plays as the starters, only they don't usually have the same skill set as them. Note to coaches Brown and CD are not the same player and can not just run the same plays that CD does well.

Ball out of his hand as fast as possible.
Simple screen stuff.
Anything and everything schemewise that allows him not to have to think or process too much.
Dominant downhill running.

Pass plays designed to hit receivers on the move and route concepts that help them get open.

Running plays with motion and misdirection that take advantage of Pollard's speed.

In general, plays in series that build off and use each other.

To a large degree teams run mostly the same kind of plays, with maybe some tweak or variation. Obviously everyone has some unique plays, and some trick plays, but for the most part the wheel isn't being reinvented. I think much of it is calling the right plays at the right times to play to your team's strengths and to expose weaknesses and tendencies of the opposing defense. Part of it also falls on the QB to recognize what the defense is doing and call the right audibles.

One thing that HAS to be different….

Almost as badly as Jerry’s voice itself, I can no longer stand to hear our opponents talk about how predictable we are, and they basically knew what was coming.

Dust off the 2016 playbook. Easily the best use of Dak Prescott we have seen so far. If his body explodes so be it.

First down passing. I detest those short runs for 2-3 yards on first down. It puts the team into obvious, predictable passing situations. Third and "manageable" means one chance to convert. I want quick angular passing on first down, with a lot of roll-outs. This might lead to passing on all 3 downs, but that's OK. Dump offs to the RB are just fine too.

Better schemed run game, slants, screens, get Dak more active with his legs.

Hopefully we get away from that with Zeke gone
