His way of doing business has been more successful than any other owner in the NFL. You’re measuring ‘business’ by wins and losses, but that’s not how businesses are evaluated. Businesses are evaluated on revenue, profit, and goodwill. He’s grown the Cowboys into the most valuable sports franchise on the globe. That’s ‘business’, and he does it better than anyone.
Also, the notion that Jones isn’t interested in winning can only be adopted by either the ill-informed or the obtuse. Because it hasn’t happened doesn’t mean he isn’t interested in it happening. Do you drive the car that you’d most like to own? Maybe you do, but most people don’t. It doesn’t mean they aren’t interested in owning that car, dating that girl, living a certain type of lifestyle, etc.
For the umpteenth time, I can’t imagine being a fan of a sports team and complaining so much about that team. This forum is full of folks like that. Jones isn’t going anywhere. His sons aren’t going anywhere. This is how the team will be run far into the foreseeable future. If you don’t like it, hop off. My daughter’s favorite team is whoever is winning the most season to season. I think you and many like you would be much happier football fans if you adopted her philosophy.
Finally someone who gets it. I been trying to explain this for a long time.
Fans are set in their ways, and will not listen to reason. They only want reasons to vent. And the is to vent about the man in power. Yes it ultimately is on him.
But he does want to win, regardless of his financial success. It is stupid for anyone to believe otherwise.
If they do understand this, they will not admit it. Because it is ultra cool to bash.
I have a friend, goes by your daughters philosophy. He only follows winning teams. Then claims he always liked those teams. I call him out on everyone every time.
He is a huge Texas Longhorns fan, to the point of obnoxious. But last year, it was...oh, I always like Michigan, a few years back, oh I always liked Alabama, or same, he always liked KC, or SF, or now Philly. In my 27 years I known him I told him, he never ever mentioned those teams until they won.
