Terell Owens is the biggest disease in the United States
Why do u guys think he is suddenly goin to change for the cowboys?
He called his Qb gay, he called his other Qb stupid and a choker, he asked for a new contract when he was coming off an injury, and now both of those teams cannot seem to find any big players.
Y would he not do this to the boys?

and what makes you think another TO whine-thread will change TO?
make him NOT a cowboy?
change the minds of those who've already chosen to accept him for their own reasons?

all we can do now is wait and see what happens and hope for the best.

well that and start a plethroa of threads to either ask why you do or don't want him around - neither of which matter anymore.

I think T.O. is every bit as scared of global warming as I am.

THAT is why he will change.

Polar icecaps baby.

Good question, besides the influence of Parcells I'm not too optimistic as well, especially since Owens will have more camera time than ever before. If he hasn't learned his lesson yet I doubt he will now.

People can choose to ignore his warts and think of only the player, which is fine, but before long he will do something that'll remind you of why he's gotten his reputation. I hope he works out, but I'm realistic....

What will make TO change is TO, he controls what he does and what he says no one else can do that for him. He has a chance to start a new what he does with it is his choice.

Okay, I'll play.

1. He finally got the contract he's wanted. Neither of the previous teams he played for did that.

2. He's finally got a Head Coach who takes no crap. I've met Andy Reid and he's a very nice guy, but he isn't the scary persona Parcells is. Mooch is known as a pushover. They didn't shout him down, Parcells is going to.

3. He got taught a lesson in 2005 and he isn't stupid. He knows this is probably his last chance.

4. In the Press Conference he gave Jerry Jones his word that he won't let this team, Jerry, or the fans down.

5. He said he was going to "embrace the star." One thing he's doing that he's never done before is hosting a football camp for youth. This forum has 3 kids going to that football camp. Money was donated by members here. He's reaching out and giving back.

6. I've been in contact on the phone with his publicist over the camp mentioned above. She said to me on the phone that he has "never been happier" and loves his situation here.

7. His mentor is Michael Irvin and Irvin has been in his ear about the destructive behavior.

That will work for starters. BTW, I defend him in this way and acknowledge openly that I am not his biggest fan. I admire his play on the field and always have. His attitude has always rubbed me the wrong way. I see evidence of a guy who is changing and keeping promises.

Oh and :welcome: Don't forget our conversation via e-mail.

I can sum up why I think it will work in two words:

Strike Three

This is Owens' last chance to be a successful, highly-compensated football player. He's had two prior stops and this is his last shot. If Dallas releases him, he might get another job, but he'll never see a big payday again. His reputation has already taken some serious hits and anything more would ruin it for good.

He's had reasons for his unhappiness with his prior teams and anyone who feels the teams didn't contribute to the problems is kidding themselves.

The Cowboys have at least taken steps to ensure that history doesn't repeat itself.

According to many here and other boards, el dorado got paid what he THINKS hes worth. Is now happy and content. Will become a model citizen. Philly and SF took advantage of the underpriviledged and misunderstood young man. See hes not a bad apple, he just hates not getting what he thinks hes worth. Despite the fact his agent screwed up, he signed a contract his agent told him not too sign, he whined and cried his way out of Baltimore screwing the 49ers in the process.

2 things wrong with this.

1) Placating a bad guy. Bad business. Next we will negoiate with OBL to stop killing pple worldwide by giving him control of America! You dont negoiate with bad pple, you tell em whats up and they are gunna like it, or they can go work at McDonalds. PERIOD. Lets see el dorados crap work with a mcdonalds owner.

2) We have a weak Oline that could be catastrophic if they cant make that next step. When that happens, will el dorado continue to be happy? If you cant guarentee the man you just placated will remain happy the entire 3 years, you have no business signing him. PERIOD.

I dont know. I hate the man, I hate the fact hes a boy. But I will watch this pre-season and TC and all that and we will see. We will ALL see. If we dont have an Oline unit, watch many el dorado lovers turn on his sorry butt the minute he calls Bledsoe a gay guy or tells Parcells not to talk to him unless hes spoken to first. I was amazed at how many pple that thought el dorado was a scuzzbag while a 49er and eagirl are now changing there avatars to 'TO is GOD' and 'Superbowl bound now'. But these same pple will be jumping in front of us to call him an butt hole and bastage and total peice of trash after he works his evil here in Dallas.

Let us not forget to thank Mr. Jones for signing the devil to wear your star. His splash factor has kicked him in the buttocks more time then I can remember. If only he would get a darn brain instead of new faces all the time.

Didn't we essentially sign him to 3 one year deals. Jerry and company were smart about this and are under no obligation to keep TO around if things go south.

Parcells would not let TO get away with saying something like that to him. I don't think Parcells would let his assistant coaches let TO get away with something like that either.

Negotiating with TO brings down democracy.

Maybe if you could have brought this to Dubya's attention a few months ago, we could have dropped a few bunker buster's on T.O.'s Atlanta house, and just forgotten about the Middle East.

Who needs a land war in Asia, anyway?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

We ALL will? So I guess you're not a man of your word?

Course, hopefully this will be bluster when we dont sign TO. But if we do. I will come back here and say my farewells till TOs gone..... if TO is a Cowboy, I will drop them like a hot rock. Till TOs gone.

Looks like you and TO have ALOT in common, when it comes to keeping your word.

See ya.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
