Irvin was a rare breed of receiver. A guy that liked to fight for the ball, run crisp routes, and do the dirty work as well. Not many guys like him exist anymore, especially in terms of effort and desire.

I always thought Andre Johnson reminded me of him. I guess just because the U connection, but I actually think Andre Johnson is a much more talented and physically gifted receiver than Irvin - he's just been in a pretty tough situation in Houston.

I think he is. He just acts like it. Remember when he had Jamie Fox hanging out with him on Hard Knocks and Jamie was acting fruity, bending over in front of him? Remember the man purse he wore after one of his last press conferences as a Cowboy?

So, you're a homophobe is actually the more accurate description.

That's right. He deserves a personal foul.

Find me a receiver would would "slap the forearms of cornerbacks until they would bleed", getting off the line of scrimmage during press coverage... and then you'll have the next Michael Irvin!! I believe this description came from HOF cornerback, Darrell Green! I believe... LOL??

Um no it's not mean at all. Your entirely wrong and I'm tired of repeating myself. Go back and re read the OP. I didn't ask who PLAYS like Irvin, I asked who has the skills and emotional leadership that Irvin possessed along with his play. He was the heart and soul.

I find it really tough getting flack from someone who can't even spell "Boldin" right. I let the first one slide but it's extremely obvious you have no clue what your talking about since you can't even spell his name.

SHHOOOM! There goes your credibility. And for the last time BOLDIN IS NOT THE CORRECT ANSWERRRRRR!!!!!!!!! He has ZERO leadership skill by barking about a trade and storming off the field after he just won the freaking NFC championship game. He's a little drama queen wanting all the spotlight. Irvin didn't care as long as they won. Boldin resembles Irvin on the field and that's where the similarities stop.

I can't judge Boldin's leadership. You can, I have no problem's with that. Still his game on the field reminds me of Irvin more than any WR that comes to mind right now.

There noone in the league that can match his leadership and passion but if I had to pick one it would definately be Andre Johnson.

I think the player most like Irvin in the NFL used to play for the Cowboys ... when he's on-

Antonio Bryant. Lanky, decent speed, good hands. While he's come on of late, his temper, impatience, and tantrums (some of which were sort of Irvin-like) cost him dearly ... he could have been the next Cowboys great WR.

Blow hot air much?

You question is rooted in opinion which leaves it open to the interpretation of other people and their opinions. There is no right answer.

I agree, nothing you said was "mean" though.

And honestly dumping on someone because they misspell Boldin and then raping your caps lock key while emphasizing with extra R's makes you look like just as much of a tool.

If you ask Michael Irvin that question he would say the WR that reminds him of himself is T.O. I don't see anyone like Irvin anymore. Fitzgerald will have a better individual career than Irvin. But the way he catches those tough balls, uses his size and runs effective routes makes him similar to Irvin in that regard. But way different personalities.

Fitzgerald won't have as many rings as Irvin and that's why he will only have a better career than Irvin individually statistically. Rings are most important.

You can spell 'Boldin', but not 'answer' correctly. Hooray. We should have some sort of party. How are you with the word '****head?' Can you spell that right? If so, you win the CZ spelling bee and get to put a pic of the award for that in your sig for a whole month.

Re: the 'mean' comment. I was kidding. Relax. I don't care which current NFL WR you think is most like Michael Irvin.

And for the record, I don't think we lose credibility on this board when we get a vowel wrong on a personal name. It took me years to get Belichick right, and I still don't know for sure if it's Miles or Myles Austin.

Irvin wasn't a bisexual drama queen like TO is.

I about **** my pants laughing at this one! That is hilarious...

I agree with the Andre Johnson. Maybe it's because they both went to Miami, I don't know. They are built awfully similar. I think it's the versatility. Andre Johnson is very versatile and I always kinda thought of Irvin that way too...I think Andre Johnson is probably more athletic, not quite the screaming leader and such. I don't know what it quite is, but i'm going to go with Andre Johnson.

So. You're saying you've got experience with the word ****head. Is that your answerrrrr? Or do I make you dumber again just for asking?

Because that's just seeming more and more unlikely the longer this thread gets.

Wow it seems as if this is a hot topic. Ha.

I could probably think of five WRs that are currently in their prime or just entering their prime that I believe to be better overall players than Michael Irvin was in his prime. And that means no Randy Moss or Owens, cause they are out of their primes.

Michael Irvin is my favorite WR of all time.

It shows the passion of a cowboys fan when you start arguing on the spelling of Anquan Boldin's name. Ha.

I also think, all Steeler hatred aside, Ward is very Ivrin-esque.

I can see it, I also see Fitz being Irvin-esque.
