pretty good mix of opinions there.. most seem to give credit to our offense and point out advantages and disadvantages of both teams

there is one SALTY Lions fan in there though which I got a good chuckle out of :muttley:

Packers fans should be happy that we knocked off Detroit, and they wouldn't have to risk Rodgers getting hurt by Suh again, if that meeting were to have taken place... :):)

People seem more butt hurt about Dez running on the field with no helmet than anything else.

Yea, I noticed that, too. The thing is, if I understand that rule correctly, it applies to players ON THE FIELD removing their helmet while on the field. If players/coaches come from the sidelines onto the field, the helmet rule does not apply. The officials may still throw a flag if the player/coach is abusive or refuses to leave the field when told to do so. Dez wasn't abusive and left the field when told to leave. These incidents are actually fairly common occurrences. It's just that when something gets said in the media (no matter how incorrect), the ignorant masses take it as gospel and hold onto it like a hungry dog would hold onto a bone because it matches their agenda. Of course, no one in the media that is putting out all this incorrect crap ever gets called on it or admits they were wrong.

If I hear one more person talk about Bryant having no helmet on, I am going to scream.

Is getting old. Another aspect that I am tired of, since I have seen no video to support it, that he not only came on the field with no helmet but that he also got in the officials face and started yelling at him.

it's always interesting to read what people think. I especially liked sunshinepacker's conclusion that Romo got his crap reputation in the media because of "clueless Cowboys fans". The guy clearly doesn't understand that media creates opinions far more often than it reflects opinions.

I've pretty much just stopped reading football media this week. Sick of willful ignorance about any aspect of the game apart from the flag being picked up. Nothing about the Cowboys overcoming two bad calls and scoring, nothing about Detroit's mistakes in the second half, nothing about Detroit being unable to score more than a field goal in the entire second half, nothing about Stafford's 3 turnovers. No, it's all that the refs all made a collective decision right there to make sure Dallas wins.

Also, every official interviewed, including Morelli and Mike Pereirawhatsis from Fox, has said that a player running on field with no helmet is always a judgement call and never gets flagged until after a warning to return to the sideline. Non-issue.

I don't get the Dez and helmet stuff at all. That is not what he could have been called for since he doesn't play defense.
He could have received an unsportsmanlike for entering the field of play to argue the call. Same as a coach could, coaches don't
wear helmets.

Yes, I'm not really clear on the rule in terms of the player coming onto the field. I think it was probably illegal because I don't think Dez should be on the field with or without a helmet. The Cowboys were on defense and he is an offensive player. I don't think he is allow on the field during a penalty time-out.

I listened to Mike Perierra speak to the issue on the radio yesterday and if I heard correctly, he said the helmet rule applied only to players that are already on the field and not to players coming off the sideline. He said that calling a penalty on players coming off the sideline is at the officials' discretion and usually only happens if the player is verbally abusive and/or refuses to leave the field when instructed to do so. I would think he knew what he was talking about. Having said that, Dez and any other players need to keep their cool and stay the hell off the field if they're not playing.

Payback time Packers fans... Whining about Dez on the field.

I am still whining/venting about Jerry Kramer false starting/ leaving early before the snap and that putz Starr getting in for the TD in the first Ice Bowl.

And to the moron that started that thread in the Pack forum. How has Dallas "avoided" playing in the cold up there? First time in how many years this team has been in the playoffs? Team has sucked for sometime.. lol. Yep, that's avoiding alright.

That sounds correct; although, I find Mike Pereira to be a weasel.

There was NO reason for Dez to be on the field with or without a helmet. The Cowboys were on defense at the time. Dez is an offensive player.

I don't care for Perierra either, but I'm pretty sure he knows the rule on that situation. As I stated before, I agree that Dez had no business coming onto the field in that situation and hope he can keep his cool going forward.

Exactly. I will credit Dez with this, when the ref spoke to him he listened and backed off.
