I understand some want Parsons to be a D.E. It has been a long time since this team has had a real War Daddy on the end creating pressure ad sacks. But with the returning players on the front line would it be better to have Parsons as a LB and move him around?

This is the thinking. If he is a D.E., he is either on one side or the other. It will be difficult to surprise an offense. Yet if he were a LB, he could be moved around and his assignment on every play will be a shocker.

Having Parsons line up on the hip[ of Gregory or Lawrence, then will he rush? Or will he cover?

Seems the LB position gives him the ability to sneak attack and the DC the option to wreak havoc with all the possibilities.

Thoughts?

...his strengths are playing hybrid. Which gives Dallas the advantage, cause you dont know where's he's going to be. Parsons is special athlete, D coordinators problem.

Im sure Quinn has him dialed in for play wrecker using both DE/LB positions.

Definitely don’t just sit him back at LBer. Use him like Lawrence Taylor!

Move him around and find mismatches. He needs to rush the passer 40-50% of the time.

Leonard from the Colts is a great LBer, but the Ravens just went up and down the field in the 4th quarter and Overtime this last week. A LBer that just sits back and does not attack the LOS can be nullified to easily.

In the old NFL, sure. But now, nah. I’d rather have him winning on 75% of his rushes than be graded a 50 as a LB.

He's had some good moments in pass coverage, and no doubt he could get consistently good in coverage in time. But such a move would fail to capitalize on his train-wrecking skills.

Move him around but keep him near the action and near the QB.

Parsons played and started at both DE and RB in high school. After 4 games he was offered a scholarship. Then he played middle LB.
He can do both. Let him confuse the opposing offenses.

Elephant.

Jimmy Johnson's position for Charles Haley.

I love Parsons at DE but I worry about him playing bigger guys every down every week.

That was actually the position name on Siefert's Niners defenses. Essentially playing the wide 9.

Haley was hands in the dirt DE in Jimmy's 4-3 over scheme.
