Bulger? Stephen Jackson can outrun Bulger running backwards... One of Romo's abilities is his ability to move around the pocket. Bulger doesn't remind me of Romo in the least.

I agree with the Favre reference, but just to be different I will say... Rich Gannon.

Gannon IS different.... his arm is like a toothpick.

Romo doesn't have that strong of an arm but compared to Rich gannon Romo has an arm like Jeff George.

I'm excited about using some WC offense in the passing game... Romo is smart and he can let the recievers do the hard work while mostly he just needs to be accurate and put the ball where it needs to be... easier said than done. Romo has a cannon compared to Matt Hasselbeck, which will make this team really dangerous. We can switch from a WC style passing game to the more aggressive play-calling like last year at the drop of a dime, and that is going to be fun.

Its obvious Romo has patterened himself like Favre in many ways with his improv, gunslinging and charisma. I think that Parcells was trying to get him to be more like Tom Brady. Early on when he was making great pre-snap reads and showing his accuracy he was a lot like Brady.

I'm thinking Marc Bulger...... was watching highlight of Bulger and all I saw was Romo............

He's a poor mans Steve Young..

He has good mobility in the pocket, throws better while moving than stationary, has Young's touch on passes, but SY had a better arm and more speed.

Improv of Favre. Moxie of Brady. Scrambling of Staubach. But he's not in the category of any of them ... Yet.

Well I can see the Favre stuff.

But since I am a fan of the boys give me a mix of Roger and Dandy Don.

Physical being Roger and cool calm fun loving demeanor of Dandy Don.

Reminds me of a lot of different QB's. He's got a release and throwing motion sort of like Kelly Holcomb and a young Kurt Warner. And like Warner in his prime, he showed he can get in a zone and not miss a pass for long stretches of time. From a playmaking standpoint, he reminds me a bit of Favre (nowhere near Farve's arm strength). That being said, like Favre he tends to make some impulsive, ill advised decisions.

Romo reminds me of the kid that finally made the team...

He's excited, happy, full of enthusiasm, and seem like a happy-go-lucky kind of guy...he will make his own legacy...

I cannot compare him to any of the greats, because, how did the greats compare to others, where they came from? The great QB's make themselves. I think Romo will have his own unique style...he seems like a winner...

If there is any indication from what I saw last season, Romo will become someone that other young QB's will be compared too later on in his career.

I think Farve the most.
He does resemble Bulger some to me as well in terms of release and throwing motion. Also about the same size.
He is nothing like Roger in terms of the way he sets up, throws or scrambles. I don't see how so many are saying that and I am old enough to have seen Roger quite a bit.
Also, many people still don't realize that Romo is slow in terms of straight ahead speed. He has great feet and is quick, but is not fast. If he were, he would have gotten a 1st down on that fumbled snap.

Only thing about the Farve comparisons is that Farve beats out Romo's arm by a longshot.

Romo can pass 50 yards, maybe a bit more if he REALLY steps into his throws... We all know what Farve can do... Just watch that wildcard game against the seahawks and watch how he could zing it in there even with strong winds. Heck, that was Farve at 30+; remember when he was younger? Damn that was cool to watch as a kid.

The playing styles, however are pretty similar; Farve bounces around the pocket like Romo does (though he is less agile) and seems to avoid the pursuer much like Romo does do.

I should probably be comparing Romo to Farve instead of the other way since Romo said he models his style after Favre.

HOnestly for me I am not sure who he reminds me of yet. I get the favre comparison, his mannerisms are very similar but I still dont see any one guy in him.

The palmer-aikman comparison is one I see. That guy is like troy reincarnated.

We can only hope that he can match some of the success of the QBs you guys have mentioned here. If he can produce like Montana, lead like Staubach, be as calm and collective as Brady, be the Ironman of Favre, and the accuracy of Aikman, then we have finally found our man after nearly a decade.

Darn guys, we just built the "10 mil of year Man/QB"

Never would have thought of Brian Sipe. Montana and Favre not bad. He reminds me of a bigger Doug Flutie. He plays like him IMO.
