Nice. Short and sweet, but definitely to the point.

Watch his actions "not on the field". When they show him on the sidelines, he's ALWAYS engaged to the hilt.
And, check him out after a play. After EVERY play he runs the ball and gets something positive out of it. I've NEVER seen him just casually get up and shuffle back to huddle. He snaps up with that knee-hop thing he does, and it's a "THAT'S RIGHT!!!' thing, but not "in your face" or cocky like. I've never seen him diss anyone or go "in your face" on anyone. But you still get that "UP YOURS" thing from him.
That's a defensive guy in an offensive players body...................

The game of football is about real-estate, and getting from here-to-there. No San Francisco 49er funny-happy feet game plans. No trick plays. Not for girly-men.
Barber is the Joe Frazier to the Whiners Joe Montana/Jerry Rice-Ali. . Barber is the Thomas Hearns to the pitty-pat of the Colts Bugger-Ray Leonard. The "banger" against the pretty boy. Barber is the "ANTI-" west coast offense. You know, that lie, sham and hoax on the NFL.........something about a "great offensive and brilliant scheme".
Marion Barber the Third is a lot closer the Jim Brown and Earl Campbell than he is to Franco Harris and Barry Sanders. He's a football player, not a side-show wonder boy.

It's an interesting dichotomy of personality- I wonder how much of it came from his childhood being the son of an NFL RB. If there were an ESPN or NFLN piece on MBIII, to me that would be must-see television. He is one intriguing cat.
He is one terrific player. His on-field energy is superb, he comes into the game totally stoked and ready to make an impact- and disappoints himself when he does not.
He has complete disdain for his opposition until the whistle blows, yet somehow does not ever engage in trash talk. It is CLEAR opposing defenses respect him immensely, they know they could be the next humiliated tackler or victim as it were. The guy runs like he's got napalm on his jersey.
My favorite MBIII thing is his "non-celebrations"- he has that cocky ball flip or head shake high step that is just annoying enough to get under the skin of the other team, and remind everyone that he is all about the business of winning football games. He's awesome.
What qualities make MBIII "The Barbarian"?

He isn't a guy who's just going to lower his shoulder and knock you on your but like a Jerome Bettis. He isn't a guy who's going to make you look stupid like Barry Sanders. But I think we can all agree that Marion Barber is an exceptional back and he has alot of aspects to his game that make him The Barbarion.
I think his two greatest assests are his balance and vision. No matter if a defender gets a clean hit on him or not, he just seems to bounce off them, and like a cat somehow regain his balance and get an extra 4 or 5 yards. Added to this is his stiff arm. It makes it so tacklers cant wrap him up, but only hit him, and you cant just hit Marion Barber and make him go down. You have to wrap him him.
His vision is another thing. He see's cutback lanes very well, and is VERY good at bouncing runs to the outside. He isn't the fastest back, but it always seems that he is able to get to the corner and win the 1 on 1 battle with the linebacker or defensive back.
While he isn't the fastest, strongest, or shiftiest back in the league, he is VERY efficient at getting the job done. Sounds alot similar to another back we used to have...
Thoughts/Opinions???
