McFadden, only because we're going to have to give up draft picks to get him.

McFadden easy. He has too many holes in his game and there's too many people who are willing to foolishly break the bank on a guy who is somehow being considered the next AD. He fumbles too much, he's not a good blocker, he doesn't make good cuts, he's not that good at breaking tackles, his speed is questionable(I've seem him lose 20 yard spacing between him and a linebacker) and those stick figures he calls legs aren't reliable.

Im not saying he wont transition eventually, but its disrespectful to Peterson when so called "experts" say he's gonna be as good, if not better than him.

So if he fumbles too much, can't break tackles, has questionable speed, and doesn't make good cuts, how did he dominate college football? What does he do well then? Cause you described him as a bad blocking, fumbling, not very fast, weak, bad cutting back, who doesn't break tackles.

Wow, like the other guy said, if he doesnt do ANY of these well, how did he become 2nd in the heisman 2 years in a row. pretty sure the nfl scouts could see if he doesnt do these things well and almost everyone wouldnt project him going #4 and up...

Cause those minor problems in college football become major problems in the NFL.

He has a lot of hype and wouldnt have even been nominated this year if not for his LSU performance. Read my post before you turn me into a McFadden hater. I didnt say he wouldnt succeed, but he's not gonna be the Adrian Peterson on crack everyone makes him out to be.

I just haven't seen much out of him other than straight-line speed.
I saw him play 2 games this last season and this is the type of rb who fits perfectly beside Marion Barber.
The guy returns kicks-both kickoffs and punts, and is the type of speed back to really add a dimension to our offense. He catches well out of the backfield also.
Much more instinctive then Julius Jones.
In my opinion this guy would make and impact immediately.
When he runs his forty...his draft stock will rise.

Well, I don't want just a back with speed. I want a complete back.

My point was that you basically made it seem that McFadden does nothing well. The "minor problems" you listed would have prevented him from being good even in college. Because after all, how many weak, fumbling, slow backs who make bad cuts and don't break tackles are any good in college?

You also said that McFadden wouldn't have been up for the heisman without his LSU game which is also not true. If you take away his 200+ yards and 3 TDs (against the best team in the nation), he still would have had roughly the same amount of yards and TDs he did his sophmore season when he finished 2nd in the heisman.

Well since there are a few RB threads I thought I would post to see who you guys think will be terrible/not transition well RB out of the draft? I don't follow college so I want to know who to not look for.

I think Ray Rice is the best back in the draft. I do not like Kevin Smith at all...the guy is a plodder with no quickness. I'm also not a fan of the thin, wiry guys like Charles, Slaton, and Jones.

Johnathan Stewart.

Doesn't seem too elusive to me and succeeded based on a size and speed. Runs in a zone blocking scheme and was helped out by Dennis Dixon's skills. I actually wouldn't have a problem with Mike Hart.

What baffles me is why everyone thinks we NEEEED to draft a RB on the first day. Running Backs are a dime a dozen and if were only drafting one to be a spellback than wouldnt it make the most sense to find a hidden gem on the 2nd day. For example the Giants struck gold drafting Ahmad Bradshaw where they did.
