So if he fumbles too much, can't break tackles, has questionable speed, and doesn't make good cuts, how did he dominate college football? What does he do well then? Cause you described him as a bad blocking, fumbling, not very fast, weak, bad cutting back, who doesn't break tackles.

He does everything well and thats why he dominated. You have to remember he also shared time with another RB who will also go in the 1st. His stats would be a lot better had it not been for Felix and vice versa. A lot of people like to put him down thinking that if they act like he is a bust we won't draft him. They must think Jerry is reading their posts like he cares what they think or something lol. The fact of the matter is if Jerry cared about what any of these guys thought we would still have Keyshawn and we would be at the worst team in the NFC East. We wouldn't have signed Tank and we wouldn't have Garrett. He could care less about what these people think. He knows the kid is amazing and much better then Peterson. and we will most likely move up to get him and then everyone will cry and moan about it. then when he turns out to be a gem the very people who were talking down on him will have his pic in their sig. the same people will be fighting with Philly Washington and Giants fans about how much better he is then Westbrook, Portis and Jacobs. they will all go out and buy his jersey and act as though they knew all along how great he would be.
Most "fans" like to cover their but. So if we do take him they can be like OH look at these 3 RB's I said all along that we should take them instead of moving up! But hey anyone can do that I mean I could name the top ten backs in the league and be like I bet ya at least one of these guys will be good! WOW what a genius! Not many WR's that have been taken in the 1st round in the last 5 years have been any good. I mean ya have Fitz and Roy but I don't think anyone else is close to elite. CB's can be had as free agents and they are already proven but a franchise RB is something rare. But they will continue to put RUN DMC down so they can back themselves up for the I told you so's. And if he is good they will say well we knew he would be good we just had other needs and didn't think it would be smart to move up and get him. Blah blah blah.

What baffles me is why everyone thinks we NEEEED to draft a RB on the first day. Running Backs are a dime a dozen and if were only drafting one to be a spellback than wouldnt it make the most sense to find a hidden gem on the 2nd day. For example the Giants struck gold drafting Ahmad Bradshaw where they did.

7th round 250th pick.

D-Mac because the cost to get him will be too high.

Minor problems do not necessarily stop a player at the college level. Depending on the team around him, the system he plays in, and his level of talent compared to the competition (and that can vary widely in college scheduling), said player may look like money, especially with all the highlights being flashed around this time of year.

The problem for this scenario is that the NFL is a much faster game: how many times do rookies have to repeat this cliche before you believe it, cliche or not? The holes are smaller, the players are bigger, the defense closes faster (local opinions aside), etc. If the player isn't constantly working to improve himself, and is getting by largely on talent alone, the NFL game will bring him to earth, in a hurry.

The worry for some with DMac is that talent, particularly speed, is largely what is getting him by. One way or another, the answer will be out there before long.
