Bringing my whole family to the game from Maryland. What should we do Saturday night? any places where ex-players hang out?

We're up for anything.

Thanks in advance for any help
What's the definition of 'whole family' for you? You kids or high school / college age?

They have stadium tours and something called Rally Days.
- It appears that there is a Rally Day on Saturday.
- I assume they have them on Saturdays before home games.
https://attstadium.com/rallydays/
https://attstadium.com/tours/

The places that I've most often bumped in to ex-players are not places to take your family, unless your son is in college and likes to party like a frat boy.

Baby Dolls gentleman's club was the top spot a few years ago.
- There are some certain types of nightclubs where I've often seen Ed Too Tall Jones...
- However, I have not been to one of those in over decade.
- The type of club with a large number of women in 35 to 50 age range that might be called "barfly" types.

Another place that I've often crossed paths with Cowboys players is at other sporting events (Mavericks, Stars, Rangers).
- For some reason way back in the day, I always seemed to end up sitting right behind one or all of Stepnoski, Moose and Aikman.

Visiting teams stay at the Gaylord Texan Resort Hotel.

In general (not specifically places to see ex-players):
- Downtown Fort Worth (Sundance Square) is a nice area.
- West End in Dallas.
- In both area you can walk around to many restaurants/bars.

I second this. The Stockyards can be a lot of fun. You are in Texas so Tex-Mex is a must. If you are in the Stockyard/Ft Worth area then give Joe T Garcia's a try. You have to get their early because it gets busy. Try to get a seat outside if the weather is nice.
State fair in Dallas is going on..not close to Arlington but it is an activity but last day is sunday.
I concur that the State Fair is a good place for a family outing.

Also concur on Joe T. Garcia's. This a good time of year for that because they have a huge outdoor/patio area.

If your coming from Maryland, then like macnalty stated a few posts above, you have to dive into some of the areas best TexMex.
Get to the game early and enjoy the tail gating experience.
Travel safe and enjoy.

Do they still have the live rodeo inside of Billy Bob's?

Every Friday and Saturday night they have bull riding at Billy Bob's. I have only been there a couple of times. Last time I went an elderly guy collapsed on the dance floor. I don't think he made it, pretty depressing.

I live in the area and am a STH. I am not sure where you are staying but go to Texas Live! in Arlington. You can walk to AT&T stadium from it. Great food and drinks and MASSIVE HDTVs with many sports/entertainment. Fun place... you're family will love it! Always our first stop before the game. Aikman has a restaurant there, too. Check out the Texas Live! website. I would suggest leaving your car parked at the hotel and just ride-share over. One last suggestion. Arlington is near Ft. Worth so if you have time go to Joe T. Garcias. Tex-Mex food, wonderful margaritas, and a huge, gorgeous outdoor patio. FYI... bring cash. Joe T's does not run credit cards. The weather will be gorgeous this weekend and you will love our warm, friendly hospitality! Have fun Ya'll and go Cowboys!

I have not been there for about 15 years or so.
It was way too crowded. And not for me anyway. We went there for a friends B-Day, for 3 years in a row. She moved here from Chicago, and that was what she wanted to do. After that, it was same old stuff, so we stopped going.
Stand in line for 20 minutes to get a beer. Not sure if it is that crowded anymore though. The bull riding was interesting though, but once was enough.

How many days will you be there? Texas live is ok, but it's kinda pricey. A bombshells just opened up, I'd suggest that also trader village. The Star in Frisco tour is a must as well as the stadium. Wal Mart is overrated and super crowded. Go to the Stock Yards in Ft Worth, it's a cool experience.

May want to check out Gaylords in Grapevine...that was, maybe still is the hotel of the Cowboys. Not sure if they stay there the night before the game or not.
I don’t think it’s the official team hotel any longer (probably pissed off Jerry lol), but that hotel is fascinating. I’ve stayed in some nice places in my day, but that place tops the list just because of the overall experience.

A bit of a haul to the stayjum, but not a big deal.

Downtown Frisco was kind of fun also.

Bringing back memories of the old days when we would hit up downtown Dallas or the SMU bars on Greenville.

Texas Stadium was in a perfect location. Arlington not so much IMO.

Both times I went I got there early and left early so I didn't have to worry about the crowds too much. It was fun to experience a time or 2 but not something i would want to do often. Kind of like most tourist traps. Bourbon Street, San Antonio Riverwalk, etc - Once you go a couple of times it begins losing it's appeal.

I like the Arlington location better than Irving.

Texas Stadium was about 12 miles from me easy to get to straight down 183. But parking was a mess. Just getting off of the highway could take an 30 minutes easily to go about 2 miles.
So we left 90 minutes before the game. There was a hotel and a diner across the highway. So getting there was a breeze leaving that early. Then we parked at the diner for $30, ate breakfast or lunch, if a later game, a few beers. But the walk to the stadium was horrible. That was good 15 to 20 minutes.
The drive home was not too bad once we got out of the lot. Traffic fairly heavy for 3 or 4 miles then thinned out.

AT&T Stadium mush easier for me. I live 6 1/2 miles straight up the road. Parked in lot 11. But I did not drive straight down to it, as the people crossing the road, and the lights and cross traffic took a while. So I drove down so far, then over a few roads, down to Division St. then back over to Collins, and turned right into the lot 11. I could leave and be in the lot in 15 to 20 minutes. in my seats in 25 to 30 minutes. Coming home, same thing, once out of the lot, which moved fairly quick. Home in 25 minutes after getting out of the lot. As traffic for 3 or 4 blocks went slow.

I think that was a Days Inn just across from Texas Stadium. Nice!

The walk from the cash lot there was ridiculous though.

Yes a Days Inn. I wonder if that diner is still in business. I guess they get business from the hotel. Local business nearby.

They also charged $30 to $40 for parking depending the game and opponent.
Monday night games were more, as well, then they played NE or one of the NFCE opponents.

The traffic to get to the fair is a mess. Make sure time is not an issue.

Depends how much money you have? If you’re rich like me I can let you know some of the things that I do. If money is tight, probably some of the others on this forum don’t make much either and can provide you some advice…….:) RELAX…..it’s just a joke. :) I rented a local house several years ago and walked from pub to pub all day Saturday eating and drinking and talking with the locals about the Cowboys. It was a fantastic vacation. I also did the stadium tour and would highly recommend that.
