What should the Cowboys do with DeMarcus Lawrence this offseason?

Tag him and see if he can have a repeat performance. Big $$$ for one season is better than big $$$ for a contract if he can't deliver.

Franchise tag; possibly for even 2 consecutive seasons. Can't trust him with a big contract and can't afford to let him get away either.

Usually I feel bad for guys that get tagged, but not in this case.

I know injuries have been an issue, but the guy is just now showing up in a contract year after we traded up to get him?

As a fan, I feel jipped.

Uh, sign him and get him some help

But knowing us we'll probably tag him and take another spin through the clearance aisle.

I would use the Franchise Tag. His average salary will likely be the same or higher than the Tag.

They have plenty of other contracts that can be restructured to offset not pushing any money forward with a long-term contract for DLaw.

I would be very reluctant to pay him long term money.

To say it is unfortunate for the organization is an understatement.

No one yet has mentioned that in the past two games, Lawrence has 2 sacks; Crawford has 2 sacks; and Irving has 3 sacks. Add that in with the return of Lee and Hitchens...and this fan is at least warmed to a theory of improving defense.

Dallas has control & leverage in this situation with Tank. So it doesn't worry me. What does worry me are things they don't control like: who is RDE on this team now & going forward? Is Cheeto entire year going to be wash? Is Dallas Safety play going to be enough for this team to win down stretch? Those are the things that worry me.

Jerry has hopefully learned from mistakes with Jay Ratliff, Miles Austin, and others... One year wonders shouldn't be rewarded with massive, long term contracts. Franchise him and make him prove his worth again

For the past two games RDE has been Crawford, who has a sack in both games.

Franchise tag him and make him prove that this is not a contract year performance we are seeing.

If he puts up double digit sacks again next year as well, then I talk long term contract. I am very cautious about giving guys long term deals off 1 year of top end production. Make him do it again next year before paying him.

Sign him. I don't know why people think we can get by playing hardball with all of our top talent. Force him to do a 'prove-it' deal and when contract time comes up, he'll be out to another franchise who will pay him obscene amounts of money. We still have to worry about deals for Zack Martin and in a couple of years, Dak Prescott.

Like most are saying- franchise tag seems to be appropriate in this situation.

Dude is having a monster year and has never had anywhere even close to this type of production. Would seem unwise to let him walk, or to give him an enormous long term deal.
