The GOAT- the mighty Tom Brady led an offense ranked 17th this season. In fact, looking at the Bucs offensive stats in both wins and losses, it’s amazing they won 8 games.

First, look at how the Buccaneer offense ranks in the 2022 season:
  • Total offense- Ranked 17th
  • Rushing offense- Ranked 32nd- dead last.
  • Passing offense- Ranked #2
  • Scoring offense- Ranked #25 (only averaged 18 pts per game)
So how did the Bucs offense perform in wins vs losses?
WINS VS Losses
  • Rushing- avg 95 yds per game in wins/ 55 yds in losses
  • Passing- avg 268 yds per game in wins/291 yds in losses
So it’s obvious that if they can run the ball even a little, their chances of winning are greatly increased. The Bucs were second only to the chiefs in passing yards, mostly because they were behind so often.

Other interesting tidbits:
  • At the half- in the 8 games the Bucs won, they led at half in 5 of them. In the 9 games they lost, they trailed at half in 7 of them. So you could argue if we are leading at halftime, chances are much greater for a win.
  • The Bucs only scored 28 offensive TDs, compared to 52 offensive TDs for the Cowboys. That 28 TD number is incredibly anemic TD total for an NFL offense.
On paper and statistically speaking, the Cowboys are clearly the better team. That does not always translate in the playoffs. But- to me it’s clear, if the Cowboys bring their A game on both sides of the ball, we should win. But again, that’s why the games are played on the field, not on paper.
It says they can put up 16 more points on us than we can them on our own home turf.

And that's when our defense was healthy. Js

We're only getting back rusty Jags

LVE is coming off a layoff??

The double move is gonna come back to haunt us I'm afraid

Their wrs can give us a schooling on grass if they come to play

Don't give Brady the last possession is all I can say.

I expect Brady to come out w 4-5 wrs early

It's the playoffs. When is the last time the Cowboys have brought their A-game in all phases of the game in the playoffs?

I'm with you there he played with Confidence while he was in there. OL played fair IMO the key to this game relies on two things One Dak, no TO and Hankins getting pressure up the middle

Stats dont show what our team looks like now. Steele gone, Biadasz hurt, Brown gone, Parsons an injured shell, lots of other defensive players dinged up. Our Oline is in complete flux.

This is just like last year. By the time we reached the playoffs our oline was decimated and our defense couldnt stop anyone.
Which is why they should have rested everyone that was needed for THIS game. The Giants were never beating the Eagles...they basically announced that once they started their 3rd string QB. There was nothing to gain playing Washington...only downside...which is what happened.

I think we have dialed it back since we clinched. Dak has taken more chances and Quinn has slowed the D-Line down. We need to speed it back up and bring Parsons up the middle and Dak needs to lean on the run and take care of the ball. Keep the penalties and our turnovers down. All 3 phases needs to step up and we win. We saw last week what happens when your ST is off. Cost us momentum and points.

Heres the thing

somehow force brady to hold the ball, their oline is banged up and i think all they starters or most are on ir.....

if that happens we win 31-7
Somehow players get Wolverine recovery capabilities before they play us. And in any event, backup linemen have given our DL fits many times the past two years. And making Brady hold the ball requires covering 2 elite receivers, which seems impossible since we have Laurel and Hardy playing across from Diggs.

Week 1 with both teams at full strength. They were clearly the better team.

The playoffs are a new season and we have seen Brady raise the level of his play and the play of those around him for 20 years. I hope we win obviously, but this is my least favorite match-up. Its the GOAT vs a QB who shrinks in the spotlight.

Nope, the first thing you have to understand about football is that the QB is by far the most important position.
The only time fans talk about it being a team game is when the QB flops. They have a great game and it's like he led us to victory.

I wouldnt say full strength per say, our oline was kinda trying itself out for the first time with two new starters, and Dak was on mental vacation. But overall yeah our defense was at its best.
I dunno, outside of maybe seahawks or giants id take the Bucs over the 49ers or Eagles for this season at least. Tampa right doesnt seem too lethal, really think its just dallas vs dallas on this one.

Well the only saving grace is if we can get past Brady we won’t see another QB this good until the SB.

The playoffs are a new season , and the way Dallas has been playing the past month, that is probably a good thing. That said, I'll be shocked if Dak outduels Brady who seems to be peaking entering the playoffs.

None of that matters one bit when facing Dallas. Rodgers and the Pack were struggling until they faced the Cowboys. The old Rodgers suddenly woke up and it was the typical result.
Mentally weak and you notice that the Cowboys have been wildly inconsistent since that game ( excluding the Vikings game which looks more and more like an outlier especially considering Vikings seem to be frauds).

Yep, depends on which Dak and Cowboys team shows up..
Our QB and team are soooo inconsistent...
How much of that inconsistency started with the Greenbay loss? The cowboys had some difficulty stopping the run but it never made a difference in winning or losing until Greenbay continued to pick at that scab even down 14 and it got them a win. That had a snow ball effect. They beat the colts (in the 4th) final score will fool you on how that game actually went. They struggled with the Texans all game. Everyone here said that was a close call and they will learn their lesson and beat up Jacksonville and all they did was QUICKLY surrender a 17 point lead and lose. That greenbay game exposed the fact that no lead is safe for the cowboys and that getting up multiple scores and have a vaunted pass rush will do nothing if you keep running the ball you can score and also count on at least one pick from Dak that will also net points
