What the heck was that review before the Maher 60 yard field goal before the half?

Oh yeah. I remember that one. They assumed Dak was carrying the ball with his legs because his entire upper body was in the end zone.

Exactly, like a kindergarten knowledge of basic human anatomy would have made that a TD. Unless, of course, you just wanted to screw the Cowboys. I guess we're supposed to pretend there was logic to that call; otherwise, we are crazy conspiracy theorists.

It's not logic. It's black and white rules. Journalists know them and write articles all the time on controversial plays. But somehow this very famous one escaped them? Just stop. Most of the people whining about this rule don't even understand it so of course what I say sounds like gibberish.

And how is this for evidence? Is the ball on the ground here?

Can’t tell irrefutably no. In black and white it says needs to be irrefutable to overturn.

Lol I can't believe you are engaging in another Dez caught it debate.

There is only one YOU, and a board full of bitter fans. You must've had this conversation a hundred times. Lol, I admire your conviction in any event.

It also bears stating that the ball CAN hit the ground if it can be shown that it doesn't aid in the catch. Given that Dez secure the catch 5 yards back I think we can safely say the ground had nothing to do with the catching of the ball. It was a stupid ruling and the ref standing 10 feet away got it right.. Completed pass, down by contact at the one yard line. Goodell's minions intervened to screw the Cowboys.. plain and simple.

Dez caught it. Landed. Leaped for the end zone. And recovered his own fumble. The language of the rules weren’t applicable there Bc they never accounted for an acrobatic play like that. It’s a catch and they got it wrong.
If the roles were reversed id be like “nah dang davante Adam’s caught that we didn’t stop him we don’t deserve a reversal here”
Quoted for truth and you left out the part where he caught it and switch to one hand......

Add that they spent the next few years explaining the ruling to no avail, and then finally changed the rule. Lol!

He got penalized for having athleticism that defied the verbiage of their rules.

by their logic Jason Pierre Paul could literally never make an interception ya know

that is the issue

if they called the whistle during the kick then ok fine, i'll accecpt that

but there was a timeout, a play was run and the score was updated with both team headed to the locker room

then you review it?

thats horse and bull crap

Heck, it was so late that Brainpaint closed the first half thread, and then had to reopen it.

They changed the rule but we still see some ridiculous "interpretations" even with the new rules. Fact is they still left enough gray area that they can screw whichever team they want to at any time. Back when it was 2 feet down and control of the ball took too much subjectivity out of it.. Where's the fun in that right?

WHILE trying to avoid the defender.. another element they added to the rule later one. The Dez catch was so easy to see it aint even funny. How they managed to get away with that one is a testament to how crooked the league is frankly.

Hey, see the post above yours I quoted for those.

Meh, you and I have done that dance already. You're a very worthy partner. I was speaking in regards to the Pats game, and the Eagles game, and the very late "review" vs Minny.

My absolute biggest beef with officiating is the terrible lack of consistency amongst not only different crews, but the same crew within a game. The no call, blatant PI vs GB after they flagged us for 2 or 3 offensive penalties on that drive is the latest example.

Many of the rules have a degree of subjectivity to them, and oftentimes, I'm certain a knowledgeable poster like yourself can find justification. Just call games consistently, and there will be a whole lot more credibility behind them.

Hey, I agree with you on consistency. The problem is a ton of penalties are judgement calls and you'll never find two people who judge exactly the same, particularly when you get to "borderline" calls. Just how it is. If I were going to throw on the 'spiracy cap, the NFL is fine not improving and leaving human error out there because it creates controversy and controversy sells. You don't need to screw a team, just let humans be humans and it'll happen naturally. 7 officials looking for several things at the same time will never keep up with 11 matchups of world class athletes (and Dak, lol). So you will always have calls and no-calls that cause uproar. Good for attention.

It’d be fun if we can hear the discussion they have on the field when theyre discussing these momentous calls

:laugh:What if the entire discussion is focused on the Vegas lines and the impact of the call? What are they really looking at under that hood? Lol
