I think if D'Brickshaw is available close to 18 we need to draft him, even if that means moving up a few slots. If he's gone I would suggest trading our first round pick and giving us more picks in round 2 or 3 where we could focus on other OTs, a FS, a WR, a LB and a NT. I think we are going to draft Whitehurst in round 4, but aside from that I don't want to make any predictions until the draft gets closer and we hopefully see some more FA signings.

I think we are underestimating BP's opinion of Thomas Johnson and for that matter Rob Pettiti.

The proof is in the pudding. We have made no effort to sign a RT and no effort for the guy from Baltimore at NT

a) There are a lot of RT's still on the market. Guys who are still figuring out there value like Fabini and Runyon will be there for a while. It isn't like good tackles are flying off the shelves at this point. I like Ashworth but it doesn't look like the team does. Of course, I think BP looks at Ashworth and sees a guy struggled early and then made himself into a good RT - of course, Ashworth got to sit his first year and learn. Petitti learned on the job.

b) The "guy from Baltimore" signed a huge deal. similar to Fergi's last year. You don't need two highly paid NTs. We need a backup there -- not a starter.

I stopped reading at this point -- D'Brick is going top 5 -- especially since Young is going to drop

I'm pretty sure Parcells only goes 6-7 deep on the DL and keeps more LBs because those guys make more of an impact on defense and can play special teams.

He also doesn''t want overweight NTs because they don't have good endurance. He even made Ferguson lose weight last offseason to get down to 310-315.

I said he's too small to play an entire game at NT. As of now we have no depth, and I'd rather get someone with a lot of upside to rotate with him b/c Ferguson is like 32 or 33.
I feel we are good shape with Ferguson and "Pepper" Johnson backing him up. Ferguson was slowed in training camp with an injury and then rotated at nose with Glover. I believe the more he is on the field the better he will be. He played a lot of minutes with the Jets. Pepper looked great in camp and did just as well when he got in the game. He is a high motor guy who fires up his teamates! You also have Ratliff who was just getting more and more playing time when he rolled his ankle. I think the future is bright on the line! We will see!

Has Sam Adams signed with anyone? Talk about plugging a hole? I know he is older, but this league is based on 2 year runs now not 10.

I don't see us out there lineing up visits except for Fabini who I believe is just vet insurance anyway considering what happened last year.

You have to at least line up visits if you have an interest.

as long as we do not draft that lazy fat slob Watson.
Watson has all the physical makings, but I've never seen him do anything at Michigan. Plus, they took him off the field quite a bit. The Cowboys talked to him at the Senior Bowl and Parcells is friends with Lloyd Carr. That makes me nervous. If we take him, it better not be at #18.
