What to do with DLaw?

D-Law is the only real threat on the team at the moment.

Irving is mentally and physically out. Collins can't stay healthy.
Gregory flashes here and there, but still isn't at that level where the OC/line coach has to prepare how to stop him all night.

Hopefully, he isn't asking for the moon and then some, but IMO you want to keep him and keep drafting more talent at the other 3 spots.

We cant pay everyone this coming offseason. Gregory had a solid game last nite. THAT SAID, I may explore trading DLAW for 2 first rounders. Sell high as they say.

We have over 70 million in cap next year. That’s before you cut Hurns and a few guys.

Could have over 80 million. Resigning him shouldn’t be an issue.

Wentz threw 44 passes without his starting RT. Lawrence managed one QB hit and zero sacks. Is it the shoulder? Should he get a pass when he chose not to fix it this past offseason? Right now I would NOT give him a max deal. Franchise him again if need be but I’m not seeing it on a consistent basis
dudes being doubled teams more often then not..its not always about sacks and other things he is always near the qb and is solid in the running game..

best case scenario his numbers being down we get him cheaper..

no..I know that, but if we see an opportunity to land premium picks/players...we should at least look at it. Im a DLAW guy, but sometimes its a good thing to sell high.

heres the only solution. if we are stuck with Garrett, you trade him for his own good, you shake his hand and tell him he will be winner elsewhere that make better use of him.

if we get a new coach, you pay him.

My fault!

I’m with you. I’d deal him for premium picks

So sick of this fanbase always wanting to throw away a very damn good player. He doesn't have to sack the QB to be effective. He gets pressure, constantly. If David Irving was healthy or if we had consistent pressure inside, those QBs would step right into trouble.

Enjoy Cole Beasley while you can.

He’s getting mauled and held a lot - and they know the refs aren’t calling holding on opposing o line so they just hold him. He was strangled last night right on top of Wentz and ref just watched and did nothing

Franchise tag him. Trade him and get a first round pick. It did not show in the stats but he causes havoc. I just don't think he is special like Ware was. You trade players like him and replace them with picks. I believe in those two linebackers. They are the keys to the defense in the future.

Re-sign him, but not at 20M+/yr, imo. I think he's worth every bit of 18-18.5M/yr, with a nice chunk, say half, guaranteed. Would love him on a four year contract, his agent will ask for six years, they'll probably meet at five. I don't see him complying with a 2nd franchise tag unless he misses games, or his production falls off a cliff.

He's been really good the last three games. Disruptive, a ton of snaps (56 last night), around the ball all the time, commanding double teams far more than any of our other DL. Showing up on stat sheets.

He had a two game stretch about a month ago where he was far less effective, that's when the shoulder stuff started to emerge, or at least gain traction. But he's been rolling since.

He's the horse of our dline. His sacks will come.

Today that sounds good, but when you look at signing B. Jones, DLAW, DAK and Cooper the money gets tight real quick. That doesnt even account for signing new players and loss of 1st round pick.

I think you go ahead and pay Jones. It won’t be nearly as expensive as DLaw. DLaw is a wait and see right now. He certainly isn’t earning the deal he hopes to get. He better start turning it on or he will be looking for someone else to pay him.

Agreed. Geez, how good is Byron? I don't even know he's on the field because they don't throw it his way. I think once last night. But I say pay them both, or at least try. I really hate to lose good defensive players. Him along with Gregory can cause some havoc. And even though I thought Dak played a much better second half, I'd pay DLaw before Dak.

That’s why Jerry traded our first :) save that money!!! Lol

LVE is a beast. He has exceeded expectations and is in the running for defensive rookie of the year. He and Smith are great together.

I am not over paying for him.
Nope..I wouldn't either. I think he likely gets tagged again...THEN TRADED..or we just tag him and keep him. I am leary of signing him longterm. Injury concerns...back issues. I think tagging him year to year makes more sense.

LVE and Jaylon are monsters. It will be change in defensive philosophy but they need two big space eaters in front of them. We need to keep them unblocked. They are wrecking balls.

No brainer, you sign him...he have lots of cap space, that's what cap space is for
