She works the weeknight news desk. Monday's newscast would be my first new recording opportunity but I did have an old newscast from last April saved on my DVR for other content. Some of the little nitpicking things she does that rubs me completely the wrong way as a news journalist are:

• making off-hand comments that do not seem totally appropriate
• her frequent little snide laughter
• how her face freezes into The Joker grin when she smiles forcefully on camera

Admittedly, this cropped clip is a bland example of what she usually does...



I must remind myself to hit record when I am watching her in the future. History says she will give me MUCH better material to post.

I've watched Conan to see what all the fuss is about and..... nothing. I thought maybe I was in a bad mood and just didn't get it. I've tried at least 5 times and am puzzled at what the fuss is about.

Most here are probably too young to remember the guy that started it all, Joe Pine. I can remember watching him with my parents when I was young and they'd get visibly angry. He was combative, insulting and smug about it.

I would put my lack of TV time up against almost anyone here except The Fonz, the man hasn't had a TV in 30 years. Damned hard to beat that. Amish people catch more by accident than he does.

And I find myself in a strange pattern. If I am going to watch something, 90% of the time it is something I've already watched. I am so tired of trying to watch crap and that's the majority of what's coming out now that I prefer to watch something I know I like even though I can lip sync the dialogue with the actors.

I've got to have a recommendation from someone's taste I know before investing any time in anything new. That's why I don't take suggestions from people on BBQ, Pizza or Tex-Mex unless I know them really well.
