What Was In The Pictures For Garrett and Romo To Look At After The 2 Fades?...

...:lmao2:

I would love to see a screen capture shot of Garrett and Wade standing there on the sideline and then Garrett and Romo looking at the pictures of that train wreck of a goal line series.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen 2 worse play calls on the goal line than I saw tonight.

I was mad at first and then the more I thought about it, I just became flabbergasted! I didn't know what to say?!

Once again we are pounding it down their throats and you have 2 shots inside the one for an almost certain TD and Garrett gets cute.

If we had lost that game 14-13, Garrett might never have lived that debacle down. That was so bad it could have possibly branded him as an OC.

Sometimes I think the guy is too smart. He overthinks matchups and personnel instead of just doing what we do best.

I dont see how you can question the first call. That's a TD nine times out of ten. Roy just dropped the pass.

Now, the 2nd call was horrendous. Run the freaking ball.

Romo said after the game that they both were the correct calls. The Panthers had more guys in the box than we had blockers, and they would have had guys coming unblocked.

Of course, some guys will just try to run it anyway in those situations. But they'll fail a lot, too. Choice didn't exactly punch it in from the 1 when we tried it early in the third quarter, you know. He got stuffed at the line.

I have no issue with the play call. Roy Williams had it in his hands and just dropped it. It should have been a TD.

Romo does not throw the fade pattern all that well in fact the one to Williams is probably the best I have seen him throw

i swear i called the plays before they happened... just had a feeling on the roy throw then when they motioned marty out wide i said it was gonna be a jump ball to him... also did anybody see the DB go out to cover him late? as soon as they motioned him and a guy didnt shade him out wide they should have snapped it and thrown a bullet easy 6.

also @ adam wasnt that the kill play that the panthers DT overloaded the left side because of the kill call?

...I felt Martellus got a terrible separation to the corner. For such a big man he should have been able to get out in space.

Romo's throw was a bit long also.

He also turned inside when he should have went outside.

Just goes to show you Garrett is overrated big time, if Emmitt was in there he would of been fuming at the thought of passing twice in favor of a run at the 1...and this team is a better running team than emmitt's days, I mean were averaging almost 200 yards rushing a game, that's amazing.

huh? not yet we arnt

also, you say had Emmitt been here he'd have been fuming, had Emmitt been here we probably wouldn have run. He was a great GL runner. Had MBIII been in there we probably would have run, he's a very good GL runner.

Choice had already tried one from short yardage previously and didnt get in.

The playcalling there was terrible. If there was a formation that forced a throw at the one, every defense would use it 100% of the time in that situation because there's so much more that can go wrong when you throw the ball. The Panthers interior line is the worst in the league, bar none. That call was a no-brainer.

Romo said the right thing, though. Players should publicly support their coaches. That's also a no-brainer.

On the bright side, at least they didn't go to the shotgun with an empty backfield.

Romo is covering for Garrett plain and simple.

Analyze it all you want, but your chances of successfully running it in from inside the one behind Andre Gurode and Leonard Davis are far greater than having to rely upon 2 properly and perfectly executed lob throws and catchesin the end zone.

Look at the results.

One the first lob throw the WR doesn't come down with it, (just like the 2 point conversion against Buffalo that TO didn't come down with a couple years ago) and on the second one the whole execution of the route was awful.

Sometimes I watch Garrett and wonder...was this guy really mentored by Jimmy and Norv?

I don't buy that explanation at all, not from the 1 yard line. Sorry but that stuff was inexcusable. Especially the plays that we called. I hate that play more than any other in the NFL. If you take the odds of that one being completed versus play action p*** to the TE in that spot, I bet the play action and throw(sorry but pass was language filtered out) to TE works twice as many times as the fade especially when you are running the ball as effectively as we were. You have to run it at least 1 of those downs period, I don't care what the defense does!

I did not care of the 3rd down call on that series but the 1st fade on 2nd down to Williams was on the money had RW needs to come down with that catch and normally does. After that though I thought it was a mistake not to run in on the 3rd down.

Sometimes I get the feeling Garrett thinks he is playing Madden and not real football.

Do it once, OK it didn't work. Do it twice and look pretty foolish.

Reminds me of Switzer's 4th and 1 calls.

Romo seemed pretty convinced that it was the right play call. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if there was an option to run or pass based on the defense and Romo went with pass both times. I think Garrett gives Romo too much decision-making power sometimes.

I'm not sure why anyone would have a problem with the third down call. Even Roy Williams said he should have caught it. The fourth down call was a little annoying though.

It looked to me like he didn't realize the ball was coming his way until Romo threw it. I wonder if he really knows the playbook sometimes.

The 3rd down pass to Bennett was a great call. Not working doesn't change that.

Dallas had an extremely large, athletic TE one on one with a linebacker on the outside with no defender in position to help. Teams work long and hard studying film and gameplanning to get situations like that.

Proper execution and everyone's on here marveling at the genius of Garrett, the mismatches that two TEs create....
