All Dak needs is a competent defense that gets off the field and create some turnovers.
True...

However, bear in mind that Mahomes was under relentless pressure by the 49ers all game and still overcame.

Dak, meanwhile crumbled under the relentless pressure of a depleted Eagles front line, their best DL playing injured and a depleted secondary.

End result?
Sorry to break the news to you... but Dak is nowhere near the talent level of Mahomes.

1. A RB being paid huge cap space.
2. A former great 38 year old TE on their roster for “sentimental reasons”.
3. (If we sign Cooper to a big deal) A WR eating big cap space.
4. A family run front office.

We at least have a new HC that has delivered a SB before.
We have Jerrah!!!
and the entire Jones clan running every facet of this operation.

We don't have Kyle Shanahan either. Dude's gonna have nightmares about 4th quarters of Super Bowls. First as OC of the Falcons, now last night.

1. KC paid the WR position.

2. Witten should have been a role player last year, but the clubs failure to address the position in the offseason left him as the best all-round TE on the team. Not his fault.

Correct on front office and cap eating running back.

1. A high priced DE that is very overrated
2. LBs that don’t do the dirty work
3. Terrible STs
4. Defenders that don’t tackle

Zeke's contract isn't breaking the bank

Chiefs have 8 guys counting over 10 million in 2019, Cowboys have 5. Crawford counts a ridiculous 9 mil against the cap and I don't think his performance comes anywhere close to that. What we need to do is focus on building the defense and don't ever think about skyrocketing Daks contract.

Its not how many players making over 10 million that matters. What matters is the positions you pay and neither super bowl team paid the rb position. The 49ers have 3 rbs who combine to make half of what Zeke makes. The chiefs pay even less at rb.

chiefs have a pass oriented offense because their QB can take advantage of that..against good or bad teams. 49ers in general aren't paying anyone on offense but the QB and LT so that's not really a good comparison to Zeke's contract.

You know what else we have that they don't? Cap space. KC will have a lot of FA coming up this year (25) with 8 mill under the cap. SF is in a bit better shape but still has a lot less cap space that does the Cowboys.

I was also thinking about weakness at the TE in position.... but what stands out to me is the weakness in the OL.
