What were you thinking when we gave the ball back to them at the end?

On the offensive holding play I knew it wasn't going to end good for Dallas!

The back end of our defense sucks. The only thing that sucks worse is our front four or should I say our front 1. There is only 1 NFL starter in our front four. The other three are back ups.

When we gave the ball back to them with 1:04 left in the game, were you like me and my friends? Were there shades of familiarity? Were you thinking you've seen this movie time and time again on Netflix? I'm not going to go into detail and completely obliterate any particular player. Win as team. Loses as a team. However, I do see that we have a nice blend of talented players acquired within the last 5 years and a smaller contngent that has directed this B movie for close to a decade. That contingent consists of Jason Garrett, Tony Romo, DeMarcus Ware, and Jason Witten. All great people in their own rights.. However, they tie the current talent pool to the days of heartbreaking loss after loss. We are a team that is deserately trying to shed that regurgitated Neflix B movie image but the ties still remain. There is no easy answer. Perhaps guys like Witten, Romo, and Ware should apprecaite the fire that burns inside a player like Dez. Perhaps they would benefit greatly from taking a bit of that fire to use for themselves. Examine it. Breathe in the fumes. Understand it completely. While some may see sideline Dez as childish antics, I see a competitor that just wants to win. That fire is a breath of fresh air for a fan like me tht has grown tired of the Netflix Dallas Cowboys B movie.

The announcers were saying the Boys are 5-3 and the Lions 4-4 and I was thinking haven't they seen the Boys play before?
And sure enough...

I got pretty damn uneasy at that point.

I don't think the words "We're going to lose this game" actually came out until the Lions completed that long pass along the sideline. At that point, I knew our goose was cooked.

You can allow basically anything, but long passes along the sideline. And sure enough...

I was 10 feet up on a ladder painting with my fiance' and said, "We just snatched defeat from the jaws of victory." After watching what I knew was going to happen happen, I said, "I hate watching this team play football every Sunday. They make me sick."

I find it so striking that the general consensus of fans all shared the same feelings with regard to the team's ability to close. Inability to close plays right into the opinion around a lack of true direction. You see.. Teams that have solid, informed, experienced leadership direction tend to hold onto that core direction at all costs in every situation. Those teams are very difficult to pull out of their set game plans. They stick with it through thick and thin with the belief that something will break. They don't waver from the mission. Due to a lack of this type of existence within our leadership, the wheels fall off in times of stress. Very interesting... It makes me wonder if it's Garrett panicking or somewhere else down the chain.
