i believe that is the better route. i've solidified three positions. hopefully, three different positions. i've spread the money more evenly. the impact of losing one of three as opposed to one due to injury will be lessened. the impact of one very highly paid rookie will mean that the mid tier veterans will ask for more. the price of business just went up.

no you don't solidify three positions -- you take 3 mid to late 1st rounders and you've likely got 1 good pick, 1 guy who turns out OK, and one guy who sucks. Odds are much worse down low

if we were to draft mcfadden we run the risk of barber being what turner is in SD...a starter on another team n then would have to franchise him at some point for like what 7 million? I wonder if mcfadden would be what we want him to be as a running back. Hes tall and lanky, runs high. On the flip side regardless of the money, the OL class this year is not that great. I would even like to see the boys trade back n land say mike hart outta Michigan.

And this is why you will never run a football organization. You always worry about economics of any transaction. This determines the positive or negative value of said transaction. I wouldn't pay $30 million guaranteed for anyone coming out next year, its just too much of a burden on the cap.

if there was *one* sure fire way to win don't you think everyone would be doing it? teams have won the superbowl with varying methods, approaches, philosophies and so on.

people tend to think *their* way is the best when in the end it's just *one* way. all ways can work wtih a lot of side factors involved.
