2 weeks has given them EXTRA time to prepare.....BUT it also can give you too much time to OVERTHINK. Think back to 2007....when we had all the Pro Bowlers....13 wins...an extra week off. What did we do? We started Marion Barber for the FIRST time in his career, a move I did not have a problem with, BUT Julius Jones had a problem with it and Jones bailed on the team and was a NO SHOW when Barber needed a blow. We inserted Terry Glenn into the starting lineup for the first time all year. We played an eat the clock up offense for the first time all year. All of these were changes we intoduced because of the EXTRA week on our hands.

Our defense was not accustomed to our offense going on 11 mins drives....and we IMMEDIATLEY gave up a 75 yard TD drive in less than a minute. Now I am not making excuses for this defense...but from the coaching staff to the players, I don't think Dallas anticipated the Giants taking the field with 2 mins left in the first half and being so agressive. But how could you NOT think that? Their offense had been on the sideline almost the entire 2nd quarter....the Cowboys were going to get the ball FIRST to begin the 2nd half. So their opportunities were limited and they were going to try and take advantadge of ANY chance they got. Now had we PLAYED that way all year, our coaching staff and players would have been more comfortable on BOTH sides of the ball on HOW to respond to ball control offense/defense.

So my point is Minny has time to CHANGE up some things, but that might not be a good thing

As far as how they will attack us...they will spread us out and run from that formation or use the quick short passing game. This is what you can do when you are a BALANCED team. Minnesota is the TOUGHEST matchup for Dallas in the playoffs. If we win this game we are going to the Super Bowl. And likewise we are the TOUGHEST matchup for teams in the NFC, because we can run it and throw it. It's too bad BOTH teams had to get it on before the championship game....because I think these 2 teams are the best teams in the NFC and should play for a chance to go to the Super Bowl.

Interesting comment. For the NFC, we have 4 teams who feature excellent QB play and an ability to run the football and all the remaining teams display an ability to be balanced in their offense. Additionally, all of these teams have evidenced some depth at running back. I don't think these facts are accidents in the playoffs. All of that being said, the area that sets the Cowboys and Vikings apart is defense. These teams have good defenses. These teams look very closely matched and I worry that the game could be decided by poor officiating or come down to a pressure kick. I think the contest is going to be close and not high scoring. We'll see.

I think the outcome of this game will be closer to the outcome of the NO/Zona game...and penalties and special teams will matter BIG time.
