What Would a Bijan Robinson Round 1 Draft Maybe Look Like?

I want to see Hendershot bulk up; gain a tenth on his 40 this off-season with the strength shoes..and compete for the starting position.

Ferguson too..but I think Hendershot has more potential than he realizes..just has to actualize it.

I like Washington's potential. And I hope I didn't reach there, which would come back to bite me just to draft a fan favorite prospect.
Reach? If he can show off some receiving skills at the combine and reassure some teams, he’ll probably be a first rounder again, or top 40 pick at the very least.

Yeah, we'll see..I'm fine with the pick. But as we all know, only time will tell..

He is in danger of Bob Sanders-ing himself.

Not an issue at #176 but probably why he'll be drafted later than his talent level indicates.
Those things kind of make me think he'll be drafted sooner. He's got a good quarterback rating, and tackles well; he had like 12 tackles against Stanford, I think it was.. something like that. If he stays healthy, he can definitely be a legit safety in the league.

As a sophomore, he had 17 stops from the safety position. I've always counted stops like sacks.

Yeah, I don’t disagree with a WR there… I just don’t like that player very much. Another receiver there would be fine with me.

To be fair to all of these players though… It is early and they still could change my mind. Obviously a big part of the puzzle is the combine, so after Indy, I (and everyone else) will have a better feel for the draft board.

This is about my favorite time of the year. I love the whole draft process.
By the way, I went back and looked at what's available on Rice. I can't see what's not to like on there. He's got the perfect skillset to be a number 2 type of WR, unless I'm missing something. Pretty fluid player, too, which is what I think helps his game, and that's something that translates well to the proverbial next level.

I'm not saying you're wrong. And even if you are, it doesn't matter: everyone will be wrong sometimes. I could definitely be wrong. But as far as skillset, I'd say he's significantly better than Jalen Tolbert as a prospect. And likely better than, say, Treylon Burks. JMO.

I certainly can be wrong about a prospect not being good, but the truth is, I’m simply not a big fan of Rice. He is supposed to be a contested catch, strength, high-point type of receiver, with concerns about his athleticism.

SMU listed him at 6-2, 205 pounds but when he got to the Senior Bowl, he measured at 6-0, 200 pounds. A couple inches is not that big of a deal, some might say… but when your only real attribute is being a big, strong guy who is going to take away the ball from the defender… that two inches is very important to that type of player.

But that isn’t my only issues with him. Probably the best defense that he faced all season was Cinncinati - a game that he was terrible in. He had drops (plural) in that game, he had problems getting off of the line of scrimmage in that game. He looked terrible. Against Tulane and UCF he looked good… but he was going against guys that won’t be sniffing the NFL in those contests.

Finally, some of the people that I trust in their evaluations see him similarly to what I do, and don’t have him listed in their top 10 WR’s. He just really hasn’t impressed me at all.

Now, maybe he goes to Indy and completely changes my view of his athleticism - which is one of my bigger problems with him - but it would surprise me because he just doesn’t appear to have it when I watch him play. If he proves that he is more athletic than I’m thinking, then maybe my view will change, but for now, he’s a big, strong 50/50 possession receiver who really isn’t big, and lacks athleticism. I just don’t think he will be that good, which is ultimately why I mentioned that I didn’t like the pick in your mock. There are just a lot of other WR’s that I’d rather have on the Cowboys.

So, right or wrong, that’s my take on him. I’m sure I’ll watch some more of his tape, so nothing is written in stone this far out from the draft. I’m not one of those guys that will defend his take to the death… I have no problem saying that I was wrong if he changes my mind.

I'm kind of against using the first round to pick up a running back, but rolled with it and I think I may have came up with a way to justify it, if you can garner more picks by trading down later on. In this draft, I traded down in the 5th and picked up another 6th and 7th and got another 7th for next year.

How realistic is that? I'm not sure, but I would consider trading down in this draft, because it's a pretty deep draft at various positions.

Heavily offensive draft, but I suspect that will be the case with McCarthy running the offense next year.

I could have drafted Clatyon Tune in the 7th. But I actually like the potential Stills brings instead.

Call me crazy, but the guy has a motor like Ratliff had a motor.

I like the picks but some of the early picks IMO will not be there at that point. FA for needs, harvest BPA
in the draft.

Bob Sanders never played 16 games and only played more than 6 games twice. Great player when healthy but too small to play as if he was Ronnie Lott.
