What would it take to get Crabtree?

We don't need Michael Crabtree.

You guys are aware that Wide Receivers taken in the 1st Round historically don't make big impacts right away and a case can be made that taking a Wide Receiver in the 1st round is a big of crap shot as taking a Quarterback in the the 1st round.

The GM of the Cowboys should be looking for proven leaders because this is what this team needs most.

Well, I definitely understand the Matt Millen comparison. But I was thinking maybe the part we gave up could involve some of that WR surplus we have. T.O. has been my favorite player since he was in San Fran and was the reason I became a Dallas fan when he came. Now I'm a Cowboy fan first, and I think it would be wise to get rid of him while he still has some trade value and possibly have the two best Texan WR's to come out of college in the past decade. We're obviously going to be fine if it doesn't happen, I just think Crabtree is one of those rare talents. And as funny as it sounds compared to the talk that was going on last year this time, our offense needs to improve along with our that same old same frustrating safety position. Maybe this isn't the way it needs to happen, maybe it is. Which leads me to the question...
Who does catch your eye in the draft?
If Crabtree is a pipe-dream, which is possible, I like Hakeem Nicks from North Carolina at the WR position. As far as safeties go, Rashad Johnson from Bama and Emanuel Cook from South Carolina.

and btw, Good for Jeremy Urban. Good to see him gettin some playing time and success in AZ.

This is possible but only because Al Davis can be had.

I'd guess it would require giving Al whatever vet he wanted outside Ware/Romo and just about the rest of our draft however.

I love Crab but he isn't worth that.

But again it is Al Davis so you might be able to give them T.O., Greg Ellis and Roy Williams38. Just have the luxury of eating all that cap space.

The bad thing is AL wants Crabtree just as much and as long as I have watch Football I don't remember Al ever trading his 1st round picks......... and believe me with TO, Ellis and Roy, we still couldn't get in the 1st and I'm talking about late 1st..............

Roys 15 catches and 150 yards was well worth it!!!!

Jerry is a great GM! under Jerry Jones (minus the Bill years) this will be the 3rd time this decade the Cowboys will not have first round pick!

duly noted...now next yr when he catches 70-80 passes for 1200 yds or so and 8-10 tds, we'll remember to throw you under the bus

you seem to want an entire career in a year. our entire offense was dysfunctional to a large degree yet roy was supposed to play beyond that. let's see how roy does with more... uh... time? is that ok or do we throw him out now and any receiver who doesn't score 2 td's a game just to save their job.

Crabtree would have to be as good as Randy Moss was the first few years to make it worth it. Are you willing to take that kind of chance?

We have other needs more pressing right now. That could change before the draft but.....

.. To get Michael Crabtree? I've seen enough WR's that were successful in college. A lot of them I would be skeptical to give up much in order to move up in the draft.. BUT this guy is going to be a premier player. Best talent in the draft, period.

Remember when we were saying that about Adrian Peterson? We were right then, and we're right now. Go get 'em Jerry!

Michael Crabtree is nowhere near the sure thing that AD was

It would take way more than we've got to give in order to get into the top 5-7 spots in the draft, where you'd need to be, in order to get him.
