What would it take to move up to #1 overall

You'd have to dip into future picks. I have no problem with that if my scouting department tells me this is our QB for the next decade.

I'd run that trade chart through the shredder though. If you're at 1 with your QB position already settled and a team at 4 calls you for the pick offering a 2, a 4 and a future 3 for the swap and you think there's a very good chance your guy is still there at 4, would you take it? I would. Trade chart be damned.

I have been against drafting a QB at 4 just to draft him but like you said if the scouts are saying look Wentz is the guy that can lead us to championships and will be the face of the franchise for many years to come I have no problem taking him even in a trade up. I'm not a professional scout so my opinions don't matter so I go with the guys getting paid to scout.

To answer your question yes I would give up 2,4 and future 3...........if Cowboys believe this is the guy

If you don't want to give up your entire tradable draft this year, it's going to cost you a combination of 1,2,3 or 4 this year and your first next year. That's my guess.

Trading that much to get to the #1 pick would be giving up on Romo and the shot we have to win now imo. I'm all for getting a QB at 4, but we can't mortgage the good team we have now for a team/QB that COULD be good in the future.

I personally think the Titans want Tunsil and will not trade down and take a chance on loosing him unless they are well compensated and I don't think they trade away the 1st overall pick in the draft for under market value.

I think they would trade down because its a solid draft for OT's. Both Stanley and Conklin could be franchise LT'. I think it would take a 1 next year and a mid rounder.

That is another scenario to take into account.

Cleveland finds out that Dallas is trying to jump them...because the Titans are smart enough to let them know...so a bidding war ensues.

Cleveland might balk since they were then other team in the RG3 sweepstakes. They should know how expensive that can get

Steve Walsh 2.0........with a lot less game savy coming out from a spread/system offense.

Yeah, based on your keen observations of height, as we've already covered.

Would love to get a QB if we think he's truly special. Would hate to give up multiple early picks in a draft so stacked with DTs and safeties.

Well, we have a number of supplemental picks, which gives us some flexibility. But if they asked for Lael Collins, and if we really wanted to get the quarterback, we would have to think about it. I know that people have a "No way" first reaction to hearing that, but a future elite quarterback would be worth that price. If Lael Collins is sitting there blocking for Colt McCoy three years from now, we're not going anywhere, no matter how good Collins is. Besides, we seem very good at scouting OL.

Think of it like a soccer transaction. We essentially acquired Collins on a free transfer. If we can turn around and sell him for 20 million, then we can turn back around and invest that in more quality players, it's a big win.

You draft an impact position player and roll with Romo.
Dak Prescott can hold a clipboard and learning how to play NFL quarterback as well as Goff or Wentz can .
