What would Sean Payton change?

The offense. If JJ allows him to install his own offense. If we could get Peyton as an OC and keep DQ this team would be a whole lot better. But I have a feeling DQ will be gone after this year.

Nothing. He won't change a sodding thing. Sorry, blame all the coaches you want, but Jerry is the problem here. In fact, Mike, imo, is a better coach than Sean Payton considering that Mike has dealt with much bigger egos than Payton as far as players go.

No. Nothing against Payton, but you could get the Messiah to come and coach the Cowboys but JJ would override him and nothing would change.
Sadly this is a major truth bomb. There is no football messiah coming to save us. Jerry believes he is the football messiah. It's called delusional narcissism. Jerry and Stephen think they are football gods, therefore no one else is needed.

EASY stuff.
Provided Jerry gives up wholesale player/personnel football team decisions, AND allows Payton his own entire staff to include sending Jerry's second step child Moore packing for greener pastures.
There will be EXTREME change.
Starting with culture.

IF Payton sells out his coaching integrity like the current head coaching fraud did to pad his retirement, then there will absolutely be no change whatsoever.

This really ain't hard. IF Jerry concedes control there WILL be change. If not, there won't be.

To discover what Payton would do differently than McCarthy, he'd have to be hired.
It's unlikely to occur. Payton knows Jerry too well for that. Also, they're very similar. :omg:

Sean Payton wants to go to San Diego and coach Herbert. That’s the “rumor” and he lives in Southern California.

And the fans want him because Lomardi sucks. And people actually complain about Moore…

Ehhhh, I think if this season goes sideways and McCarthy has to go, I want a bold, innovative move, not another retread.

Look at guys like McDaniel in Miami, Shanahan in San Fran, Sirianni in Philly.

Fresh, young, up and coming guys. I've had enough of the retreads, etc.

He would change the offense. And the culture. The later hiding this team back from winning anything significant.

How many close games against quality teams do we have to lose until people realize it’s the coach info that’s a problem. Great coaching in the Nfl makes a difference. We win that game Sunday with Sean Peyton
Find me when Payton won anything significant more recently than McCarthy. McCarthy never went 7-9 three straight years and Payton had Brees in his prime the whole time.

To tell Jed and Jethro to stay out of his business. He is not coming here unless he has the tuna package and we know Jed ain’t down with that again.

Payton like many before him won't be able to change the soft Jones country club culture. The team is soft mentally and for the most part results don't matter. It's all moot. Payton doesn't need money that bad and knows better than to work for Jerry.

Jerry wants to play the one gap defense. And Jerry wants to keep Moore. This team will always be slightly above average as long as we play the one gap and keep Moore as an OC.
