What would YOU pay for a game-worn Landry Fedora?

I don't get autographs, but I do like to get books signed by authors.

On Landry's fedora, I was thinking I would spend maybe $200. Then I see 4 grand and I realize I'm either a cheap skate or naive.

I an avid reader and I can't stand anyone writing in my books, author included. ;)

I've even gone to book signings to meet authors and never actually gave them anything to sign.

4 Grand? I'd drop that in a second, no questions asked. And I still have student loans.

I couldn't afford what one would cost, but I'll tell you what, if I had one, it would be my prized possession... ahead of my guitar, ahead of my golf clubs, ahead of my computer, ahead of my dog...

Well, OK, my mutt would give it some serious competition, but I think you get the point...

while i mostly agree with the sentiment that sport memorabilia is overrated, i take exception with this.

this is art.

i remember landry but only from when i was very very young but my father truly admired him and that certainly rubbed off on me. landry was the most iconic figure in the NFL during his time and the chief portion of that icon was that damn hat.

its like achilles spear or macarthur's pipe.

This is no football signed by the 1974 Bears or the like; this is a true and significant part of american culture.

There's always compromise....

What if some rich Commanders or Eagles fan purchased the Fedora only to burn it in effigy before one of our games in the parking lot?

Do you think there'd be a riot? What would YOU do if you saw something like that happening?

I have no loans, but I do have $415K left to pay on a brand new mortgage. I would pay 10 grand easy, but my limit would be 20 grand.

$415k will buy a shoe box of a house in the ghetto here.

LMAO! Yes, I know. I've lived in NYC. I didn't say that my house price was $415K. I just said that is the amount I owe on it. Fannie Mae limit is $417K to get the lower interest rates and avoid the jumbo loans. So I maxed it out.

...and yes, I would pay up to $20,000 for a Landry game worn fedora...especially if it was worn during one of the early superbowls.
