trade George Pickens for?

The more I think about it, the more I think trading him is the best move for the team.
Yes he's great and gives us a dynamic 1/2 punch at WR. But I just think he's going to demand too much $ to be able to afford both of them and still field a complete, quality competitive team.
And I also think that it is very likely that he will be a complete jerkoff if he doesn't get what he wants and is forced to play on the tag. As in, skipping off season stuff, showing up late to camp and meetings, not putting in the max effort at practice or in games, basically just doing what he must do to assure that his year counts and he gets his tag $. Not only that, but I can see him bad mouthing the team/coaches and owners. And flat out just being a malcontent and major problem in the looker room.
If he does that stuff he won't be worth the "cheap" price tag of $27.3 million they will pay him and then turn around and release him next year. And don't tell me that he will put in max effort to prove he's worth a big time deal from some one lese. He strikes me as the kind that will assume he is worth every penny and teams will gladly pay it.

If I was the GM I'd be calling the Jets about pks #2 and #44. Landing Reese would go along way to not missing Pickens.

But I ask you, if I am right, what would you be willing to take for him?
What do you realistically think teams would give up?

The Jets would have no interest in him for the same reasons you're saying the Cowboys should trade him. He might get you #44, but he wouldn't be in play at #2.

I also don't agree with creating one hole to fill another.

It is a false statement that they cannot compete if they sign both receivers. They have the ability to create even more cap space if they want to

Trading Pickens was a reasonable idea when you could save the $ and spend it on free agents to improve the rest of the team. Now that that’s out the window, you might as well keep him and let him play out the year. A 2nd round pick isn’t going to vastly improve the team and we’d likely get a 3rd comp pick if he walks at the end of the year

Agreed in general - only caveat is that if a WR is there at #12 (i.e. Tate) then you'd theoretically trade Pickens for Tate + Picks. They've already whiffed on the free agency period, but that type of trade might present an opportunity to get better anyway.

They could possibly for this year, but not really for the long term (3-5yrs).
Teams can't afford to pay 3-4 players mega contracts without it seriously effecting the remainder of the team.

I was being hypothetical about pk#2. The point is I would be trying to move him for as much as possible. What would you take and what's realistic is the question.

Losing him isn't really creating a hole, when having two #1 WRs is actually a luxury most teams don't have already. If you land the right guy who can be a effective #2 WR, the team will not really miss him very much on offense.

IMO, the extra $ to spend on FA isn't where the value of trading lies. IMO It's the draft capital that we currently don't have and could desperate use, plus eliminating a potential issue.

Why would the Jets do that having Geno Smith to pair him with and have all those past immaturity issues come back when they can't get him the ball.
GM career suicide!
The only 3 teams that may have remotely considered trading for him thinking a WR could put them over the top are picking in the late 20s and they went with the safer route.
Maybe if AJ Brown hadn't decided to jackass again one may have considered differently but a 1st at this point is just unicorns and fairy dust.
Hell, I'd be skeptical of anyone dropping a 2nd on him. Maybe after camp starts and someone has an injury his trade value might go up slightly but 3 weeks before the draft you're deluding yourself!

Give me Bailey and Omar Cooper with the two picks given in the 1st and I’m happy
