What you can't wait to see this season

We all know the season is getting ready to start ('bout damn time already) and we all want to see just how good this 2005 version of the 'boys will be. What one thing in particular can you not wait to see this year? Personally (IMHO), I think we will have a very good team for the first time in a long while. But, no matter how many wins and losses we might end up with, here is what I am most anxious to see:

I can't wait to see, with all the talk about our defense, just how kick @#! Roy Williams is going to be with the influx of talent on our defense and with Roy finally playing close to the line of scrimmage at his natural position. All we ever hear about is how Roy isn't quite as good as some of the other safties out there. Maybe he isn't, but let's get him lined up at SS, with some help in the secondary and some strength in our our pass rush and, oh boy, let's see what he can reallly do. Those other safties are great, but they have all got to play on awesome defenses at their proper positions, now its Roy's turn.

I want to see an aggressive defense that puts pressure on the QBs forcing them to make mistakes. Lots of sacks, turnovers, and defensive scores, something we haven't seen around here since Dave Campo took over as the DC with his bend-but-don't-break scheme. I will be amazed if Zimmer can pull it off since he is a Campo disciple and seems to be even more afraid of being aggressive than Dave was.

I cant wait to see our offense kick ***! Everyone has said we are too old, or too slow. Bledsoe is washed up. Blah, Blah, Blah. Can't wait to shock the world!!! And the D, don't get me started....just gotta say Boys fans get ready for turnovers!!

Im really looking forward to seeing our OL and DL play well. If that happens, everything should click. Also im looking forward to our A+ draft picks playing fantastic ! However, more than anything im looking forward to watching Julius Jones and Jason Witten grow.

After that im looking foward to the Bengal and Commander fans I work with shutting up about how Roy Williams is over rated, Julius Jones is unproven, Drew Bledsoe is over rated, we over paid for Anthony Henry, All other FA signings are past it ETC ETC ETC !!!

There are so many guys I want to keep up with considering how many new faces we have and current guys who have been with us a short time to see how they progressed. Basically I won't have enough eyes to keep up with all the guys that I want to see who they are doing in that 1st preseason game.

I want to see Julius making the long runs and leaving would be tacklers in his wake. And I want to see A-Train running over people up the middle and putting tacklers on their backsides.

I want to see LA and Flo and Marco and company putting people on their butts so our RBs are 5 yards down field before they have to make their first juke move or run over their first defender. And I want to see that crew stopping pass rushers cold so that they end the play by turning (or getting up off the ground) and watching our receivers take the ball down the field.

I want to see Bledsoe hitting Witten and Keyshawn consistently over the middle and in the flats and picking the oppositions defenses apart and then slinging a long one to Glenn for the score when they try too hard to stop Witten and Key.

I want to see Ware and Burnett coming off the edge and splattering opposing QBs (yes particularly McNabb). And I want to see Canty and Spears and Ellis and Glover closing the pinchers on the opposing QBs when they try to evade Ware...or just getting there because they can.

I want to see Henry and Newman and Glenn snatching balls out of the air and taking them back the other way...or slapping balls out of the opposing WRs hands.

I want to see Roy laying slobberknockers on any WR that comes across the middle...and RBs too for that matter.

I want to see Dat and Ferguson shutting down the opposing team’s runners every time they try to go inside. And I want to see Ware and Burnett shutting them down when they try to run wide.

And Homer and Optimist that I am...I fully EXPECT to see all of that.
