If we're talking guard, we have 3 starting quality guards (ahead of Proctor) so that's certainly not a need. And a tackle certainly wouldn't be starting any time soon.

They may have wanted a corner -- just not a 6'4" corner that was green as all ****.
thats what we thought last year but sure enough Proctor was in there getting Romo killed and whiffing on blocks...we SERIOUSLY need depth on the O-line...If we get Duke tomorrow I wont be as upset but as it stands rigt now this trade just doesnt make a whole lot of sense

So you would be happier if we had overpaid for a player at 51?

The draft is about value and it simply wasn't there.

So you are saying that there was nobody on the board at the time we picked that could come in and contribut and make a difference?? I see where you are coming from but who's to say that all those guys we can get tomorrow aren't going to be off the board when we pick tomorrow....hopefully we try and package some of those picks tomorrow to move up and get somebody good tomorrow...Just my opinion

I would rather overpay for a better player than get great value for a worse one.

Especially when we already have too many second day picks in the first place.

Because we are currently five picks away from where we pick. There are more than 5 '2nd round talent' guys that Dallas could/should draft.

If you lose two starting guards, yes you're in trouble.

But you don't draft any position planning to lose two starters to injury. You can't do that.

But the difference is this year there may not be that much of a talent gap between #51, and #69. A lot of people thought Rashad Johnson would be long gone by now. He's still there. A lot of people thought D.J. Moore would be long gone by now. He's still there.

Calm down guys. JJ knows what he's doing.

Damn, He drafted Carpenter .

JJ's no newbie to the draft war room.

Did you guys see Wade @ the table. He looked like he was finally allowed at the adult table.:laugh2:

We didn't need another 4th round pick that badly. We have too many as it is, we are not going to carry 12 2nd day rookies out of camp.

Pick the best player on the board at the position of need and be done with it. If our scouting department seriously has pick 51 through 69 rated exactly the same they they fail.

Right but you can draft a guy for depth purposes and groom him to replace a starter a year or 2 down the line...do you honestly think Kyle Kosier is our long term answer at LG...or Montrae Holland for that matter?

His place has been taken by about 5-7 other posters.

Did you accidently insert a "-" between 5 & 7, and you really meant 57 posters?

Stephen Jones devolved from the hope of our future to a moron in one day.

Fans are wonderful.

Kyle Kosier can be our starter for 3-4 more years. Holland can back him up that entire time. I don't draft a 4th offensive guard int the 2nd round. Sorry, that's just lunacy.

But apparently we needed a 2nd round pick that wasn't going to see the field. This is just beyond ********. If there's no one there at 51 that's better than someone you can get at 75, you DON'T take someone at 51.

How is this that hard to comprehend? You can ***** about their scouting ability and say there's someone at 51 clearly better than what will be there at 75, but you can't ***** about their reasoning.
