This will be a thread where you remember players that you thought were going to be good and now are out of the league.

I'll start with :

Whatever happened to Rashard Lee?

Whatever happened to Troy Hambrick?

In September 2005, Hambrick was arrested on domestic abuse charges, which were dropped after prosecutors declined to file formal charges.[2]
In 2007, he was arrested for selling cocaine, and later sentenced to five years in prison

ReShard Lee signed as an undrafted free agent in 2003 with the Dallas Cowboys, but after needing arthroscopic surgery was released with an injury settlement. He was re-signed by the Dallas Cowboys in 2004 but was released before the start of the 2005 season. He then signed with the Buffalo Bills, but they also released him before the start of the 2005 season. He then signed with the Green Bay Packers and played in a few games. After being injured he was released by the team before the end of the 2005 season. He was signed by the Oakland Raiders in 2006, and played for them that season. In 2007 he hurt his knee during practice and was waived. When he cleared waivers he was put on Injured Reserve and released with an injury settlement.

Looks like he was a guy that looked capable in pre-season and just never stuck on any squad.

Woody Danztler was it? We kept hearing and hearing and hearing about him and his skills and how he was good at a lot of stuff but master of none. What happened there?

To bad i was hoping he'd be that backup RB you never hear about but always got the job done. Never panned out.

When you start players or even have players in fairly important roles and they disappear from the nfl after you release them, it tells a lot about the talent level of your team.

Derek Ross. I was excited that first year. What happened!

How about TE James Whalen.

I remember him being a dynamic pass catching TE at Kentucky.

I think the bucs either drafted him or signed him as undrafted rookie fa agent.

They cut him and we got him. I thought he would be a nice pass catching TE for us.

Nada. :laugh2:

Headcase.

I think he was the player that did not believe he had to run or do exercises in practice. Can't remember the whole thing about that but it was something along those lines.

What ever happened to Alonzo Spellman?

I remember reading he had some kind of breakdown and got locked up in a mental institution....

Don't remember if it was before, during or after he was here but didn't he have a break down or episode where he was wondering out in traffic or something. Or was that D. Underwood.

I think that was UNderwood, Spellman had problems to but I think he was playing for one of the under leagues, CFL AFL something like that.

No, that sounds familiar now that you said that.

I'm gonna see what I can find on it.

Derek Ross was too good. But the league is fixed and his fate was already predeterimined.

Wow, it was worse than I remembered. Now, this was just a quick search found on wikipedia so take it for what it's worth

Struggles with bipolar disorder

Spellman exhibited erratic behavior during his time with the Bears. The first incident in which this behavior became public was in March 1998, in which Spellman became enraged when a doctor was late for an appointment, pulling a telephone off of a wall and threatening suicide. Complicating matters, Spellman had access to alcohol and a firearm and by this time weighed in the neighborhood of 300 lbs (136 kg). Authorities were called in, and friend and former teammate Mike Singletary helped get Spellman to check into a hospital, but Spellman later wandered out of the hospital.

Spellman was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but refused to take medication, instead becoming increasingly reliant on drugs and alcohol. This led to even more erratic behavior and run-ins with the law. These problems, along with his refusal to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his injured shoulder, led to Spellman's release by the Bears.

Spellman started taking medication and his disorder did not cause any major problems during his time with the Cowboys and Lions. However, after his NFL career ended, Spellman stopped taking his medication and again ran into problems with the law. Most notably, he had a manic episode on July 23, 2002 in which he disrupted a flight from Cincinnati to Philadelphia. Spellman initially suggested that the flight was going to crash, then became verbally abusive to other passengers and threatened members of the flight crew. The plane was forced to make an emergency landing. Spellman was released, but then destroyed some property at his brother's home and was taken to a psychiatric hospital. He was later arrested on charges of interference with a flight crew. Although doctors confirmed that he had bipolar disorder, Spellman was determined to be legally sane and spent 18 months in federal prison.

In interviews with ESPN, Spellman has said he now knows how important it is to take the medication for his disorder. He had hoped to return to the NFL, but his age and history presented significant barriers to a comeback. He is now "100 percent into" mixed martial arts

Spellman was arrested again on January 29, 2008 after leading authorities on a pursuit after being involved in an apparent altercation at a Tulsa, Oklahoma convenience store. The chase ended after three of the tires on Spellman's car were deflated by stop sticks and pepper-spray pellets were fired after Spellman refused to get out of the vehicle.

Alot to list, first to mind.......Dwayne Goodrich, who is by the way in jail right now.

Second, Willie Blade.....who knows.

I like him too. He was my favorite TE to use in madden back then.
