What's changed since the 1st Giants game?

These will be 2 fatally flawed teams going at it in New York next week.

I see it as a toss up. We barely beat them with 6 turnovers last time out. That won't happen again.

Losing Sean Lee and the game being on the road are two huge differences. Having two weeks to prepare and the Giants onwn injuries (right now, it looks like JPP and Corey Webster could both be questionable) are in our favor.

This is a very winnable game, and, yes, the Giants are obviously capable of beating us, too.

Losing to the Saints was not the end of our season, or the end of our division championship hopes. So much changes in a couple of weeks in this league. Whatever ends up happening, there's a good chance the picture will be significantly different at the end of the season than it looks right now.

1. Team has lost faith in Farrett and some of his staff members
2. Romo has lost more respect amongst his teammates
3. Team has lost faith in our pass happy gameplans
4. Team has lost faith in a Kiffin led defense
5. Team has lied to fans about wanting a balanced offense
6. Injuries
7. Team has unnecessarily abandoned the run in winnable games
8. Jerry has further been exposed as an attention ***** that only sells hope
9. DeMarco Murray has proven to capable of making people miss, pluggin the blitz, catching the ball outta the backfield and overall being a featured back
10. Benching of quality young starter with a bogus excuse for it
11. 1,237 NFL records have been broken against our defense that is on the field entirely to much because 4 stooges want to keep passing inconsistently
12. Twill has proven to be a threat with body catches and inconsistent HANDS
13. Ratliff jerked Jerry like he's been jerking the fans. I PRAISE YOU RATLIFF FOR GIVING JERRY A PIECE OF YOUR MIND LAST SEASON!!
14. Waters has instilled a calm but nasty disposition within the OL
15. Romo has misread defenses and left too many plays on the field. My bad that happened Week 1 too. Strike this one from the list
16. Wares body hAs betrayed him once again as well as Miles
17. Stephen Jones has caught his dad's attention ***** fever on his radio show giving fans no hope that the cycle of potential bad Joneses GM WILL EVER END.
18. My overall hope that this team will ever win another SB in my lifetime as long as Jerry is running ****!!!!!

As bad as Dallas looked against the Saints, I can see us winning the next 2 and being 7-5 after Thanksgiving.

Maybe, but the Saints game also showed how far behind we are from the contenders. Teams like the Saints, Seahawks, 49ers, maybe even the Panthers.

We are in the mix to win the division only because they are 4 really bad teams with 4 horrendous defenses.

But in terms of accomplishing anything in the playoffs, forget it. Any one of the 4 teams mentioned above would lay waste to the Cowboys and this unwatchable defense.

We may as well start thinking of the draft.

Maybe so, but my thinking is that anything can happen in the playoffs, and I would perfer to see Dallas have a crack at any of those teams.

Everybody is down on the team; however, the next 2 games are against the Giants and Raiders. They've already beaten the Giants once.

Everybody should be back in the lineup except Lee and Durant.

The DL should be a little better than early in the season.

Fred, Leary, TWill, Wilcox and other young players have more experience.

Am I missing something?

Any time a good QB plays against this defense, it's considerable cause for concern. That's basically what it boils down to for me. Without turnovers, this defense is essentially a sitting duck. The numbers the Cowboys defense has given up to all the good QBs on the schedule are staggering. I see no reason for that to stop now.

Well.. I *sort* of agree with 12 (if I'm understanding it correctly), 14, and 16 on this list, anyway. Otherwise, I don't recognize most of what you're describing here.

The thing is, Eli has not been a good QB this year. The other thing is, he's definitely capable of playing like one when he plays against Dallas. It's hard to say what we're going to get.

Against us, expect good Eli. We just have to hope for a few turnovers like we saw in Game 1.

Unless this offense comes back from the bye week with an attacking philosophy, we have no shot in NY or many of our remaining games. This defense is not going to stop anyone and our best shot it to score early and keep scoring, and make the other team play from behind. No more three and outs, no more snapping the ball with 1 second left, and attacking the whole field, not just outside the numbers.

I don't see it happening though, I think Garrett is too stubborn to admit that his offense is stale and not working and will continue with it until it works.

That's what I think is probably going to happen, too.
Cowboys/Giants games in recent years have all been close, no matter how good or bad either team is. They come down to one heartbreaking play one way or another. I expect this one will end the same way, and that we'll see Eli, at the very least, put up a ton of yards and multiple TDs. He'll probably throw a pick or two in the process. It'd be nice if we could sweep them, and better if WAS can give us a little breathing room this weekend against PHI. Things wouldn't look quite so dire at at that point.

Nothing has changed since the Cowboys beat the Giants opening day they didn't look very good beating them. It took 6 takeaways and 2 defensive scores to escape with a 5 point win. Eli shredded the defense for 450 yards and 4 TD's. It's been like that all season for the defense. A lot of us were down on the team after the opening day win with the Cowboys winning by only 5 points with all the breaks they got. The Cowboys haven't beaten one team this season that has a winning record. The Giants, Commanders, Eagles, Rams and Vikings have combined for a 17-30 record. Nothing has changed for the Cowboys the past 3 years they remain a 500 team.

You're typing, so I know you're trying to communicate, but I'm just having trouble understanding you today for some reason. Are you asking if I now we're at 5-5? If so, then, yes.

What has changed since we beat the Giants opening night? Realizing that the defensive performance in that game was NOT an aberration. Blowing a seemingly insurmountable division lead. Realizing that we aren't a lock to win the division after all. Watching the offense stink it up just as bad as the defense game in and game out. Realizing that the coaches and management have no answers at all. These are juts a few of the things.

One game is insurmountable?

For a lot of people here, yes it was. We had actually built up a two game lead with a tie breaker over the Eagles and many though there was no way we could lose the East. Well, many now think there is no way we can win it.

I never consider the tie breaker until both games have been played. People that thought it was a lock, just weren't looking at things realistically. I still think the Cowboys win it though. I don't think the Eagles are that good (or any of the other teams), and see no reason we can't still sweep the division or win any of the games left on the schedule. I see the Boys at 7-5 in a few week with a very good shot at winning the division. I don't necessarily think they'll be easy games though, with Garrett they rarely are.

Teams have figured out the Cowboys and the Cowboys haven't adjusted. Yet.
