Love the idea of moving on and forward as fans.
Totally agree that we upgrade the Oline- which in turn will balance the offense with a run game thus taking pressure off the QB and , indirectly, the defense.
Huge ripple effect if they just get the line in working order.

Do not agree with"the less Romo throws the better". But he should throw less than he has been, percentage-wise, for sure.

One the better QB ratings ever with the game on the line , actually.
Plus, he lead ALL Nfl QBs in the last 5 years in 4th qtr comeback wins. That is by definition when the game is on the line.

What's funny is Skins fans act like they have a SB locked up. They should be excited based on their recent teams but they should not have a sense of entitlement to the division. They are the champs, good for them. New champ every year in this wacko division.

VERY easily could be back in the division cellar this year. Hard to predict either way, but it would not surprise if the had a losing record.

No one is more adamant about a team being unable to overpay for a franchise QB. I don't think it can be done since he's the most important player on the team period. If you don't have a QB, you don't have a team. That said, I think Romo's contract was more than I would have offered however we absolutely had to sign him and pay him. With more details available now, I'm less appalled with how it'll likely play out. I tend to doubt Romo sees the last couple years of that contract.
Every team with a quality starter is contractually/salary cap hamstrung by his contract. Its more problematic to be married to big contracts to guys like Ware and Witten when their performance will likely start dropping off very soon.

Lmao, "Teflon Tony"?

More like "Velcro" Tony to the mediots and some around here.

Talk about being desperate to get everyone to cling onto a saying.

and I agree with the Velcro part.

What's done is done. We're just going to have to live with this extension for our franchise QB. Sigh.

The entire second half of the season was him trying for late game heroics to come back and win the game. Time and again.

Browns game. Up 17-13, the Offensive line and Felix Jones manages to get 2 yards on three runs, the ST chip in by allowing a 24 yard return and a 15 yard horsecollar. The defense gives up a 17 yd TD on the first play from scrimmage. With 1 min left in regulation, Romo takes the ball 71 yards and get s a FG to force OT. In OT, he gets us a FG for the win

First Skins game. The defense gives up 4 TD in the second quarter. Romo throws 3 TD and scores 28 points in the second half but the defense still cannot stop anyone. We lose 38-31.

Second Eagles game. The defense gives up 7 ypc for 183 yards on the ground so Romo throws 3 4th quarter TD to come from behind and wins.

Bengals game. Our offensive line was getting destroyed. A key Anthony Spencer sack and two Romo scoring drives erase a 9 point 4th quarter deficit and win us the game.

Saints game down 31-17 and he throws 2 4th quarter TD and brings it to overtime.

He gets a first down but then Bryant drops a slant forcing a punt. The defense then gives up 70 yards in 4 plays and gives the game away.

It's like people do not even pay attention to what went on in the season. All year long Romo was having to overcome no OL push, porous pass protection, one of the worst defenses in the league that was dead last in TO, and a not so special special teams. Yet in most every game he at the very least brought them into a position to win the game. He made play after play in the 4th quarter to give us a chance.

I don't think anybody can say that Romo is not a good or great quarterback. I own one Jersey from the current team #9. History has proved that when the lights are brightest Tony folds. You can go back to the Seattle playoff game to the last game with Washington. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think tony can have a Eli or Flacco like playoff run. I hope I'm wrong tho.

History has proven to me that putting everything on two anecdotes that are mostly two plays demonstrates absolutely nothing. That we are having this conversation putting everything on Romo is asinine enough as it is. That we are putting everything on him on the basis of said two plays is even worse.

For years and years, fans have been crying for an above-average OL so Tony has a legit chance to win some playoff games. Our GM has never taken the steps needed to do that. Its a shame such a talented QB may never get his due...

Well, sure he can. A lot of people didn't think Eli or Flacco could have that run either. You can throw Peyton and Elway in there as well - until they did it. And with Eli and Flacco, there stats were great, but they were far from perfect. They just didn't pay for their mistakes. Eli throws two passes against SF right to the safety, and he drops them both. On one of them, he collided with the CB, knocked the CB out of the game. Eli goes on to throw a TD against the backup DB. Flacco throws two deep balls that are woefully underthrown, but Jones had gotten so far behind the secondary, he had enough time to make a sandwich while waiting for the ball. He also got away with a number of jump balls that his receivers went and got.

Not saying they got by on luck, did they had their share of breaks. Romo will need those breaks as well, but it's not like he can't do it.

You are wrong, DEAD WRONG. History has showed me that when the lights are the brightest the team folds not just Romo.

I posted the link to Romo' s new contract on Facebook. One of my friends said we should have got Ryan Mallett. I told him that Mallet would be in a coffin within a month behind our line. Another guy said; "Tony Romo is the most exciting player in the NFL." If you think about it, Romo may be the most exciting player......

Can't say I agree either. But upon my face palm lament when I heard the news at my B-dubs, the Skins fan manager gave me a free meal out of the news to cheer me up. :)

I'm guessing it was some type of potato dish since 4 of the past 5 years his team has been shacked up in the NFC east cellar. Amazing what you can learn about a potato after 4 straight years uninterrupted cohabitation. ;)
