Disagree completely. Dak Prescott has the higher ceiling and has better physical tools, but Cooper Rush has played the role of quarterback better in a small sample size. We can debate the why behind it, but it's pretty easy to look at how the offense ran down the back stretch of the season last year and three games Rush has started and see a difference. We could list a million reasons, from KM calling poor games, Dak pressing, Rush performing the basics better, etc, and to be honest it is probably a combination of all of them to some extent.
Last time Dak played the Giants the Cowboys put up 21 points and threw for about 230 yards so just to assume he has played to a point where he steps on the field and puts up 40k at will is just being a Dak homer. Not saying he can't, he has shown that he is capable, but recent Dak Prescott hasnt given us that type of production. And to be honest the Cowboys were a dropped pass and a blown PI call away from another 10 points Monday.
Dak and this offense carried this team through the New England game last season. After he came back it was a roller coaster and really was the defense that took over games. Dak hasnt been the "teacher" and Rush the "sub". Dak has been a very middle of the road QB his last 12 games, Rush has been the teacher. He has the physical skills of a typical backup QB, but he reads and reacts like a prime peyton manning.
I'm not saying Rush should be awarded the starting job after two weeks, but I will say the Cowboys should ride the hot hand the next couple weeks as long as they are winning with Rush. If teams adjust and Washington completely exposes him this week it isnt even a question about Rush vs Dak. If Rush looks really good this week and doesnt drop off against the Rams THEN I think we can have a more realistic conversation about him being better and needing to take over for Dak. Until then we need to tap the breaks. Mike White was the savior for the Jets last year until all of a sudden he wasn't. Teams have more film on Rush every week and how the Cowboys are scheming with him in the game. Ride the wave, and if success continues we can talk. Rush has been better than Dak has been in recent history, but dont be surprised as well if Rush ends up hitting a brick wall as teams adjust.
