Where I grew up, everyone prefers beef ribs over pork and I'm talking about a town where everyone barbaques at least once a week, if not twice using mesquite wood, of course.

Growing up, my dad would barbaque pratically every friday and saturday.

I really didn't know pork ribs existed until I was in college.

It's a regional thing. Here in Memphis I doubt you could find beef ribs.

Come on up sometime and I'll take you to get some good ones.

My brother in law is from the RGV and now he loves pork ribs.

People might as well be drinking Old Crow if they're going to add soda to it. They're only drinking it for the name when they cover the flavor up with something.

If you are going to add soda, use Canadian Club instead of crown. 1 it is a quarter the price, but it makes a better mixed drink. Crown on the rocks tastes like soda anyway (yea I drink it too much), CC is less sweet and is perfect to mix. It also is pretty close to crown for those of you too cheap to buy crown

well at least we know u are in Texas........btw, did u know Whataburger doesnt have mayo? I have eaten there my whole life and never knew that. When I found out, I emailed them, but they never replied....I also asked them why they didnt have chili to put on the burgers, and since they are a Texas Institution why they don't serve a Texas favorite, BIG RED.

I live in a little Wst Tx town and Pork ribs is all ive ever cooked.... Ive tried beef and they just dont take the flavor as well... I cook with mesquite and pecan and you cant beat smoked ribs... Chicken as well.... But like he said its a preference...

So my menu... 2 drunk chickens a few pork chops couple of burgers and Shiner....I might hit the crown depending on the game situation... If the boys are losing I will stick with Shiner. If they lose I will hit the crown and call in on Monday...lol

Tentative Menu:

During Slurs game
grilled ham and swiss sandwiches with mayo and mustard
slice of homemade butterscotch meringue pie

During Cowboys Game
a can of black olives
a can of pineapples with shredded cheddar cheese
slice of pie

During Spurs Game (dinner)
T-Bone (seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic), fries, corn, and maybe broccoli and cheese
slice of pie

I will brew some tea that morning to wash down the food, since I don't partake in the alcoholic beverages.




Now I have to decide what I am going to eat today for the UT game that comes on in about an hour.....maybe go to McDonald's and grab me a 50 piece real fast.....not sure.

How does the Pecan flavor work? I can't decide which I like better Hickory or Mesquite, probably Mesquite. I have never used Pecan. How does it compare to the other two?
