What's the draft like in your house?

The thing I hate about the second day is that they really only discuss the results of Round 1, namely the top ten.

On the bright side, if you are a Skins fan, you can watch them pick relatively early and have your whole day ahead of you.
You are right.

IMO, that's when The Ticket is especially good.

They focus in on what the Cowboys have done and are doing instead of repeating, over and over again, details and interviews related to the top 3 to 10 players picked ... and that guy who unexpectedly slipped out of the top 10.

Wake up... Take a shower... watch the draft.... go to bed... repeat on day 2.

Oh and there is a lot of eating between all that.

I remember being in college when they first started televising the draft and I made fun of people who would actually sit and watch it. I caught the bug during the 1991 draft when the Boys were loaded to the gills with picks. Thanks Vikes!

Now, I'd pretty much be glued to all of Day 1 if not for family duties.

For several years I have been at one of my boys baseball games and listen to the draft on radio. Someday, when the kids have all moved on, I may be able to do the all day thing. But it'll be awhile yet as my youngest daughter is only 7.

Nevertheless, its always a great day. Watch the kids do their thing, watch some draft simultaneously, or squeeze some TV time in between. My Cowboy fan sons are into it too and my wife is unbelievably tolerant so it all works out pretty well.

I'm in the #1 catagory. I'm hard core with this stuff. I have my draft pubs, my own mock draft and my top 150 sheet that I put together and start tracking the draft.

I know. I'm nuts, but hey, It's football and the Cowboys.

one thing i'm pretty sure of doing is clicking the mute button when berman gives away the picks before announced. i really hope they forbid him this year of doing that. he tries to make it seem like he has some insider information so hes THINKS he knows what the pick is when really he's having the pick whispered in his mic before it's announced..what a joke!

Even now, I can't justify this as being a poor pick. We've got a back-up capable of producing at a very important position if our pro-bowler goes down...not a bad thing.

I'm not so sure everyone should forget about the 2-TE offense, it's a scheme that is run to confuse the opposing D, so they don't know whether it's going to be a running or passing play, it probably won't be our base O, but we might see a heavy dose of it

btw, Julius Jones has been most effective running behind a 2-TE set in his career

I hate that, it really takes away the suspense.

For some reason I never thought of muting lol, I'm gonna do that this year!

Just watch the draft on NFLN and you won't have a problem. Since Michael Irvin isn't on the ESPN coverage, no reason to watch it anymore.

Anyone can have a cabbie from Buffalo.

Thats a good (*&%#point. And I dont think its foing to be something they change(Like Im guessing NFLN will do with their grap*&%#hics)

Mortensen will do it too. Trying to make it about him

It will be interesting to see if NFLN steps up their presentation this year. I like Mayock better than Kiper, but it felt second rate overall.

As stupid as it sounds, listening to Berman sweat and have no idea what he's talking about is simply tradition and I'd miss it.

My wife and I had just been dating for only two months when the 1992 Draft came on.

She was working but came over for lunch and saw me like I really was.

Old ratty robe on...chair pulled up to a couple feet from the TV. Draft mags and newspapers all over the place.

She told me later...OK this guy's a Big L and a Nut.:D

Oh well she didn't hold it against me.

I'm not as fanatical these days as I was back then. But I wouldn't miss it if at all possible. I watch it all but will flip back and forth between other things.

I've got a Tivo DVR so all I do is record the Draft then flip to the other tuner and see what else is going on and then flip back and I haven't missed a thing.

And I can fast forward through the things I could care less about.

Well You would hate the ticket here in Dallas, because the cowboys call them and give them the pick about 5 to 7 minutes before it is announced on tv!

Yup you out-of-towners just listen to KTCK The Ticket online ...

-The Boys draft room gives the pick to this station at the same time it's conveyed to NY, and you hear who it is some time before it's read by the commish. (This is part of the contract requested and got by them when they signed on as the flagship station ..)

-The phone call to the draft pick by Jerry and Wade is recorded and a minute or two after the pick is made you get to hear the pick hyperventillating, family celebrating, as Jerry is coy with him, mumbling: "Hum, enum, well are you happy to be a Cowboy? ..." then Jerry identifies himself (does he really need to?). Plus you get the "first exclusive interview" with the pick right after that. (This was also part of the Ticket's contract ....)

-Norm Hitzges finds his mark in his marathon coverage. Like, in the sixth round, Norm, Mickey, etc., asking ... who have the Boys worked out that's still left? etc. ...

Don't want to be a shill but this is one day it's acceptable that your local media are total homers for the cause.

1 tv draft another tv for madden/other xbox360/wii games

u can download or just listen from that link

I highly recommend the ticket for the draft. they are the best

This year will be a bit different for me. Some Wiseass decided to have a training retreat for that weekend. I will be presenting a symposium on adolescent development all day Saturday. Luckily, I recently got a Hi-Def package which included a PVR, allowing me to record the whole shootin' match. With any luck, I'll be around for Sunday's session. Perhaps the best part to this is the fact that I can watch the draft and fast forward through the commercials and any other BS. My family has absolutely no interest in football and views my interest as just one of Dad's strange hobbies.
