You had your chance, but now I'd like to look at this question from a different angle ...from an Eagles perospective (your comments wuld be most interesting).

NOTE: Uncertain who all of your probowlers/best players are, may need your assistance); I'll "bold-face" all that I know.

QB

Bledsoe
Henson
Romo

Eagles Answer: Probably run-based; to open up the field for KJ. The Cowboy offensive line was probably strengthened since 2004 -- it will be critical for the OL to keep out various blitz packages launched by Jim Johnson, Eagles Defensive coordinator.
_________________________________________________________________

RB

Julius Jones
Marion Barber
Bickerstaff

Eagles Answer: Eagles running game has been significantly reinforced since 2004. One of Trotter's jobs will be to plug the hole and limit JJ yardage if Possible. JJ has come on strong during the closing of the 2004 season -- was it a fluke? Eagles should intimidate the hell out of any rookie status that's still may remain in JJ. Otherwise this could become a problem for us. (I hope he stays healthy).

WR

Cooper
Crayton
Crowder
Glen
KeShawn
Merrit
Morgan
Rector
Smith

Eagles Answer: Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown have arrived and are capable of limiting most wr attempts to the flat. But the can be beat. While they are the answer, the question is ...can KeShawn beat them?

Reminder, just try to keep it real.

To be continued ...

One thing about JJ from last year to this year, he should be able to run to both sides rather than just being able to run only to the side of Allen and Flozell last year. That will make it much harder to stop him. Keyshawn got open even w/out Glenn. He always seems to find a seem. I have no idea what MBIII will do. If we are gonna score on you guys, we need production from a third receiver.

I'd Bold Glen instead. Before he got hurt last season, he was having an amazing season. Also, where are the tight ends? Witten is a big threat.

Jim Johnson is the key, we haven't had an answer for him for yrs, but Parcells is smart enough to counter him we'll see if we have the talent to do it.

Jason Witten is the key to beating Phillies Defense.

Our defense is much more physical than in the past. While Philly could run the ball effectively, Reid just does not want too. Phillies interior line is probably improved with the addition of Andrews. Runyan is a yr older and his play has not been great recently.

TE is Philly's unknown. LJ looks to be a good player but he hasn't done it yet.

I think the 3-4 helps against the Eagles, McNabb will have to run from Burnett and Ware instead of Ellis. Williams will also be in the box, Davis will be helping on TO and I like our chances with Glenn, Newman, and Henry matched up 1 on 1 on the other WR's.

Westbrook will as always present a problem, but with the addition of another linebacker and tall lb's at that I'm hoping it's harder to throw to him and we'll have Roy in the box with the more atheletic Burnett and Ware.

All in all we match up better this yr than any other. Philly didn't improve and we did, but we are young and changing defenses. Our QB is a question mark at this point.

Also will be interesting to see how our Oline resolves itself. In a best case ever scenario Gurode with Allen and Rivera would have the power to move the interior of Eagles line. Rogers would seem to be a better matchup against Kearse. We'll just see how it all goes.

I love the thought of the powerful punch we'd get if Gurode really was able to take the center spot from a very solid Al Johnson, just seems to much to hope for.

New OL, timing between JJ and the new QB (who is trying to learn a new system); couple with rookines may get the COwboys Off to a slower start than you'd like to have. You'll need a great start due to the difficult schedule you have. KeShawn will be a factor!

It'll be interesting.

Didn't know about Glen -- he could become a problem if he stay healthy this year.

I intend to do the TEs under ..."to be continued." I just wanted to put a tester Out there to see if there's an interest. If so, I'll get to the rest of the team.

Glenn is the WR that can give the Eagles trouble he's capable of getting seperation on about any CB in the league. He is smooth and very quick. But Dallas has to keep Jim Johnsons boys out of the backfield to give him time to work.

Disagree with that assessment, our O-line is not "new". Rivera is a seasoned vet so I really look for him to make his presence felt immediately, making Rogers the only "new" member of the O-line. And as for a QB learing a new system he's played the majority of his career under this system. I think you should try factoring in the potential chemistry problems going on in your own camp, and let the season unfold as it will.

How? They don't even have there best offensive weapon in training camp. And, they don't run the ball so what difference does it make?

Not very high one-fisher. I played in the United States Air Forces in Europe League (USAFE). We had some NFL players who were cut, joined the military and started playing in our league. Why?

It is new to Bledsoe -- now tell me that's not important!

You had a chance to do that in "What's the Cowboys answer to the Eagles

But I'll bite. Eagles TC is coming along smoother than you think -- just a couple of pieces still need tweaking.
Here. take a look for yourself...

Robert Redd, was signed by the Eagles on February 10th and allocated to NFL Europe. Playing for the Berlin Thunder, Redd was a star who led the Thunder to the World Bowl. Now, he is back in the states, with the Eagles at Lehigh University.

As a result of playing in NFL Europe, Redd did not have much of an off-season. And his already shortened off-season was made shorter by the fact that his team made it to the final game of the season.

WR Robert Redd is reliving his college days at training camp But this could be a blessing for Redd...

"I didn't have time to get any cobwebs," he said.

As a matter of fact, Redd only took three days of rest for himself. The World Bowl was played on June 11th. Redd was back to Philadelphia on June 13th. And finally, he made it back to his home in Ohio on June 17th.

After "doing nothing" for three days, Redd began to prepare for training camp by working out with his personal trainer in Cincinnati, Ohio. He worked out there right up until camp.

It is amazing how fast things can change. The story for Redd is much different now than it was just a few months ago; he went from being a star, to a player on the fringe.

"It is a humbling experience, but at the same time everyone (at this camp) can play at this level so everyone has to come out here and give 100 percent," said Redd.

"I am trying to get down the mental part of the game. At this level, everyone is an athlete. Everybody can play. Everybody can run. Everybody can catch and jump. The mental part of the game - knowing your assignments, knowing where to be, knowing the different coverages - that is what sets you apart from the other receivers."

Redd understands that there is a battle of the position, so he is trying to set himself apart by staying on top of his playbook.

"At this point, I am just trying to break everything down, getting with Greg Lewis and a couple of the guys who have been here and know what is going on. I ask them questions, watch them when they go in front of me, talk to the quarterbacks because they know what is going on."

Following the first day of Training Camp, Redd admits he was up studying until close to 1:00am.

"I didn't get much sleep, but that is the price that you have to pay when you are trying to make it at this level."

"I average finishing up studying the playbook around 1:00a.m., so there should be no excuses for running the routes. But in the heat of the battle, it can get confusing. I need to slow it down a little and get my assignments right."

In addition to learning the Eagles wide receiver playbook, Redd is focusing on special teams. He acknowledges that the Eagles are stacked at wide receiver and that his role would be more on special teams. Coordinator John Harbaugh said that Redd will battle cornerback Dexter Wynn for the punt return job.

"We have some pretty good young guys, (WR) Robert Redd looks really good catching punts back there right now," Harbaugh said in his press conference Thursday. "Rod Hood has caught punts well, which has never been something that he has done, but he has worked real hard at it, so we got some guys."

It is like college all over again. Living in a dorm room. Late nights studying. Little sleep. Eating in a dining hall. All in hopes of a job. "It is like being a true college freshman. It is a learning experience. In order to be successful and be here in September, the key is to know the plays."

Ok? Want some more?

Yall got a viscious Bltiz. Brown and Shepphard are good, but I'm not sure if that comes from the players around them, or if they are really that great. I know one thing for sure, this year we will have a running game and a passing game you will have to respect.

I also am excited to see us come after your QB a bit more. Cowboys Eagles games should be very good this year. I have a feelig we split the series. I still think we're a year away from realistically challenging for the divison, but this is the modern NFL, so anything is possible.

I've played. If I ever got into the flat ...I was gone. But getting into the flat was the hardest thing you can imagine. I heted the 41-pop (signal for the tail back to run through the #1 hole -- to the left of the center); that was like a suicide mission! Should have been designed exclusively for the 31-pop (full back play).

What position? Was the injury inflicted (if so, was it a clean hit) or was it as a result of an over-extended muscle? Do you know what "grass-drills are?" Just curious. :)

small town high school..... barely enough to scrimmage in practice....had to play both ways..... Center and d-tackle..

scooped up a fumble and was tackled from behind.... Felt the ligament snap....I knew it was over. Man, the arthritis is terrible........

We didn't use the term grass drills. Our coach was a Bear Bryant prototype..... He was tough....bad tough. I still have major respect for the guy, some 20 years later.
