What's the latest on Trystan Hill?

If he's back to health this kid will positively surprise us this coming season.

YA you know what "IFS" will get you. "if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle" "if the dog hadn't stopped to pee he would have caught the rabbitt" "if ifs and but's were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry christmas" I had hopes for tristan this year but they are wading fast

My guess is how Hill performs in pre-season games 3-4 will determine his fate but it sure ain't promising.
I guess if he were a stock I'd buy because it can't cost more than pennies at this point.

Is he hungry enough to go to someone's PS get reps and return the to active roster eventually? I just don't know.

All that said... The Raiders LOVE our cast offs.
Hill in Vegas has to be a real possibility.

Hill suffered what is normally a year long injury in October of 2020. Which means we should not reasonably expect him to get on the field before October of 2021. That means that the Cowboys will likely PUP him the first 6 weeks of this season. And probably should. I like the toolset Hill has and have hopes that the flashes he showed last year can turn into at least a solid player for us. Mainly because that would be the best thing for the team I root for, not because of some twisted need to be "right" that some others demonstrate here daily.

He will not be cut as long as he is on PUP. My guess is he stays on it to start the season.
If he is activated soon, he has a lot of time to make up, and diminishes his chances to make the 53.

Best to keep him on PUP, then he has an additional 6 to 8 weeks into the season for them to make a decision.

Actually it is best for them to keep Hill, Vasher, Golston on PUP to start the season.

Zuerlien is supposedly close to come off PUP soon. MM said they hope to get him some pregame work in tonight.

I think you're absolutely right. I think he stays on PUP to start the season in order to give them time and roster wiggle room to make decisions.

Let me check….yep, Wentz still sucks.

Marinelli knew he was leaving and wanted to hurt us. Only explanation for Hill over Thornhill
Hill was their MO though....they took same approach with this draft with those 3rd rounders. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. But we know they don't value the safety position enough to take it with a 2nd round pick.

And I know we all love to crap on them for that pick but I mean does anyone here know if Thornhill is any good? I don't get to see him much but he seems like a guy that would be on par with what we already have at safety.

Thornhill is a JAG. To be honest we should have picked the defensive tackle with traits over a safety.

Thornhill has his own issues.

Thornhill does get a lot of snaps. He had 762 to Sorensens 879. What hurts him is that Honey Badger is so damn flexible that Sorensen is a reliable strong safety so he loses snaps
