What's the latest on Trystan Hill?

I don't see how they retain him. There are just too many better options at his position.

Hill will most likely be on PUP to start the season and get his way on the roster in the early half of the season. He’ll be a contributor in the D-line rotation.

I’m sure neither he nor his agent are giving tge Cowboys mulligans for the time he’s missed or disappointed. I’m willing to bet he’s been paid ever cent and gladly taken it. And he’ll hit free agency and expect to get paid like any other free agent that has actually contributed.

Dude was never the answer. And we took this young immature kid out of college with flags. I'm glad Rod is gone from this coaching staff. He love his projects.

That's what i'm saying.....

And if we're truly being honest.....we complain about them every draft not taking a safety...none of these guys have ever amounted to much. Unless i'm missing a guy......
Safety is probably the hardest position to find in the league. There maybe 10 good safeties in the league right now. The best safety is probably really a linebacker in Jamal Adams. I am so glad we did not give up two picks for him.

He will not be cut as long as he is on PUP. My guess is he stays on it to start the season.
If he is activated soon, he has a lot of time to make up, and diminishes his chances to make the 53.

Best to keep him on PUP, then he has an additional 6 to 8 weeks into the season for them to make a decision.

Actually it is best for them to keep Hill, Vasher, Golston on PUP to start the season.

Zuerlien is supposedly close to come off PUP soon. MM said they hope to get him some pregame work in tonight.

Injured players who could come back from PUP/IR are a way to expand your effective roster. I suspect a lot of players get put on the Hangnail IR to keep their rights.

Yep,
Let's not be so quick to bury the guy

Hill is still a raw developmental player, now in his third year, and he may not even make this season. If they like him at all, they should see if he will extend real cheap, otherwise it doesn't make much sense for us to invest developmental snaps in a player to train him up for the rest of the league.

I think he ends up on the PUP and pushes Watkins on the roster. If Watkins balls out it’ll be hard for him to get back snaps

The way I see it too. Watkins was signed as a cheapo veteran injury insurance policy. With Hill not being back, looks like we collect on that policy. But people are making noise about Watkins playing well. If so, they could easily just IR Hill for the year after PUP.
