What's the status of Monte Kiffin?

Does anybody know his status for the 2015-2016 season?

I know 2013-2014 was less than ideal - but the Cowboys were transitioning defenses so maybe he's not all to blame?

Surprising he is not in talks with anyone, anywhere, about being a defensive coordinator.

What exactly did he do wrong in Dallas? With Tampa he was one of the all time great coordinators.

Latest I heard, the Cowboys were still talking to him regarding next season. I really don't think there is a position for him, JJ is just trying to be nice. As far as outside interest, he is 75 years old...right or wrong, not sure how much interest there would be for someone his age.

All jokes aside, Kiffin has forgotten more about football than any of us will ever know. Keeping him around as a consultant is not a bad thing. I don't think he probably has the energy to run a defense anymore, but there's nothing wrong with having an experienced guy like that around to help out where he can.

He can pal around with Switzer and Lacewell for all I care. Seriously though,he can be a valued guy for Rod and Jason to bounce ideas off of. A professor emeritus of sorts.

I'm sure that's true. But how much new about the ever-changing game is he learning at age 75? If the role is back row consultant, sure, why not?
