One of the knocks on Roy is that he doesn't wrap up enough on tackles and always goes for the big killshot. Maybe he's making an effort to change that.

roy makes a whopping 866k, why do you say we pay him so much? there are guys on the bnench of most teams making more and never even play. roy is fine.

I'm sure that there is nothing wrong with Roy but I did notice this on yesterday too. The ideal tackling technique is to shoot for the legs while locking them up with your arms. Roy mostly likes to hit with force and he only wraps up when he has to.
You saw it to. This was not a rip Roy thread I just thought that I had noticed this against Denver also and wondered why would he change his tackling style its king of strange because he still is not wrapping up just taking peoples legs out Troy made a comment about this on a tackle of Barber, something to the effect of why are you going low to tackle someone if your 240 lbs.

Roy was drafted in the top 10 number 5 I think? in the draft so he gets paid at that rate you left out signing bonus in that 866k he is getting a lot more than that.

That could be but does that take away from his effectiveness and how does that affect his value to the team. I would like to know what your opinion is.

Why you guys are questioning Roy’s game is beyond me. His value to this team is second to none. Roy and Witten should be the highest paid players on this team.

Roy was all over the field yesterday. Even my friend, whos a Giants fan, commented on how Roy was contributing to the ground defense a ton for a safety. He is fine.

Wrap up leg tackles are hard to do when you're coming toward a speeding player at an angle.

Wrap up tackles only work if you're in front of the player and your rate of speed is greater than his.

Imagine you trying to stop and wrap up a tackler who is running fast and you're at an angle.

Roy is using his speed and angle to cut a player at the legs. You can't run if your legs stop moving.

Roy is the best tackler in the game.. when he hits people, they either stop or they go backwards.. they dont pick up extra yardage.. and trust me, the intimidation factor is still sky high with Roy

This was not meant to be a rip Roy thread some of you are just to sensitive. The point I am trying to make is if he is not laying the wood then what makes him All Pro caliber or worthy of a high dollar salary on his next contract.

I've seen him make some hard hits the last few weeks. Especially on pass blockers. Sometimes you're just not in a position to make a big hit. Did you see the angle he came in while he tripped up Tiki? There was no way in hell he could have got a kill shot in. He was lucky to make a tackle.
