What's wrong with Alvin Bailey?

Does he have any issues that we don't know about like Jesse Williams, or do NFL teams really believe that he has no talent.

He looked like a good OG in the game footage that I watched. He played with good anchor strength and good short area quickness. His technique an open field blocking needed some work, but he looked as well developed as some other OL that were drafted in the mid rounds.

Bailey had excellent measureables at the combine.

I'm with you. Maybe we can sign him as a UDFA with Jerry's money + Arky connections.

Sounds good to me. :)

did they work him out like they did with Leary last year.

Let's hope so. Still 47 picks remaining, though.

While we took only one OL this year, if we took one in rounds 1-3 every year or even every other year, OL would not be a problem. Maybe Jerry didn't take OL late because he's given up on trying to find adequate OL starters in the late rounds.

I'm okay with that because we have not been successful going that route in a long time.

Regardless of what happens with the Cowboys, I curious what I'm missing in terms of the player evaluation.

I'm with you Walker-just got back and stunned this thread was created. There has to be something going on with him we don't know about.
No way this guy is a UDFA based on talent/play.

Might not be the evaluation of his play. Might be a character issue or injury.

Too many picks left
We need to trade our 6th next year for someone's 7th and pick up bailey or Faulk

That would be huge value to get a starting OG or ot in the 7th

I am a Razorback fan and have seen pretty much every game Bailey has played. He was redshirted and then started every game the last three years. I've never heard about any character issues with him. He was regarded as our best OL all three years that he played.

His play fell off a little bit last year along with the rest of the team. New coach Bret Beliema has made it clear that OL coaching was a weakness with the previous coaching staff. It's likely that Bailey could have dramatically improved his draft stock after a year under Sam Pittman's tutelage.

All that being said, I see no reason why teams are passing on Bailey in these later rounds. You'd especially think Jerry would know about him.

Highly ranked by websites + disliked by 32 front offices = starter?

At this rate, Bailey might not even get drafted and could be a Cowboy by midnight, saving a future pick.

I don't feel it's character. He has been one of my pet cats since I started looking hard at the draft. Nothing I've read on him indicates a character issue. I'm thinking it might be an injury that may require surgery that came out during the interview process?

Whatever it is, I'm baffled. He shouldn't have made it past the 3rd. 4th at the latest.

Well if he does have a character issue (I'm NOT saying he does) we wouldn't necessarily know about it.

His play on the field certainly looks like he should have been drafted by now, so it's got to be SOMETHING.

Being an Arkansas fan doesn't mean an Arkansas player doesn't have a character flaw. Or any other kind of non football ability flaw.

Maybe the found out he likes killing kittens. Who knows.

Kittens are cute and all but I want the Oline fixed. A few kittens might have to take one for the team this time.

:laugh2:

Gil Brandt said on NFL Radio this afternoon that Bailey has mental issues.

Take that for what you want.

Adding him would solidify the interior line. Like many of you I had him going in the 4th rs at the latest. Adding 2 interior lineman, and signing Clabo will really make our line strong.

You mean lack of smarts or mental health issues?
