What's wrong with Alvin Bailey?

Gil Brandt said on NFL Radio this afternoon that Bailey has mental issues.

Take that for what you want.

Your statement doesn't line up with this post by Gregg Rosenthall on nfl.com:

NEW YORK -- It's that time of the draft. The part where I don't really know most of the players. That's why I turned around to ask venerable NFL.com analyst Gil Brandt for his favorite players remaining.

Here's a quick list, which has already been depleted by NFL teams trying to ruin this post by actually drafting guys off Gil's list.

1. Chase Thomas, Stanford linebacker
2. Alvin Bailey, Arkansas guard

I really kinda shocked this guy didn't get drafted.

Hopefully they can evaluate him and get his mental issues in check, cause he could really help this team especially with our needs in that area.

Mental issues is better than heart issues. The current Cowboys OL has no heart. Maybe it needs some mental problems to kick start their lack of heart. :D

Has anyone confirmed if it's mental issues? Last time I checked, that was treatable.

I thought Jesse Williams just had a knee operation or something...

He said it on air in the 5p ET hour, just prior to an interview with Montee Ball.

I took it as being mental health related.

Charles Haley had mental issues too. Cowboys need to get this kid.

Degenerative, the Cowboys didn't have him on their board according to Broaddus.

no kidding. his mental issues probably made him the extreme, effective player on the field. As with everything...its comes to is it controllable. Charles held it together enough to be wildly effective.

I thought it was Thornton that had mental issues, since he woke up one day as a kid to see both his parents brutally murdered.

Doesn't Leary have a degenerative knee as well?

Broaddus was just asked on Twitter whether it was personal or medical issues. His response was, "Personal...don't want to get into it." Seems to confirm Brandt's comment alluding to mental health issues.

.
Yeah, because psychological illnesses are totally easy to control. Do you honestly think these illnesses are either/or issues. You can be bipolar like Haley and find that it is easily controlled with medication. Or you can be bipolar and, no matter what sort of treatment you receive, be completely unable to get it under control.

More importantly, this stuff tends to emerge most strongly at 18-24 and you really have no idea how bad it is going to get.

Haley had his stuff under control so we should get this kid!

Folks need to get educated on mental illness before they say stuff like this

The stuff I've heard about Haley was so disturbing I couldn't even bring myself to tell my parents about it.

This guy is supposed to be even more nuts.
